ABD Board

I will be sitting for my abd board at the end of July, I have been reading the penny book but it just seems to not be working for me. I’m struggling getting through these long chapters and not really retaining that much information.

I also have the MUT study guide (not the quizzes) and the URR click to learns and mocks. Which is what I feel like helped me the most when studying for OB, but I have heard abdomen is significantly harder than OB so im wondering if that will be enough? Any other study tips for this board?

Rooster randomly showed up in our yard.

So I have a small flock of 4 hens, we’ve had them for almost a year (first time chicken keeper) today a rooster randomly showed up in our backyard, my husband went outside to check him out but the rooster just went over the fence and left. About 20-30 mins later he came back and was hanging out by the hens run (they don’t free range unless supervised) this time my husband grabbed him. The area we live in has a decent amount of chickens/roosters that just roam the streets but this is the first time one makes it into our yard.

We set him up in a smaller spare coop we have with some food and water. He seems to be healthy but I don’t know much about roosters. I had been talking about wanting a rooster for some time now, is it wrong to keep him?

What breed could he be? He’s pretty small, definitely smaller than my hens. I’m not sure if he’s young or just a smaller breed? Also my girls eat the NatureWise layer feed pellets, is he okay to eat that as well? At least for now since that’s all I have.

Hi everyone, I’m a first time chicken keeper and noticed this red, irritated area near one of my girls vent today. She seems to be acting normal, eating and drinking, laying normally. What can I do for her? Wondering if I should give her a little epson salt soak or would that make it worse?
