Warming Up to Idea of Surgery

I’ve had 3 episodes in 6 months and I’m pretty sick of being sick. I was very much against surgery but I’d love to have my life back so I am rethinking. I’m a 63 yo, healthy female. I workout, hike, do yoga, paddle board, bike, camp, backpack, etc. Most of that has come to a screeching halt. I met with the surgeon and he said it’s really up to me. I have no fissures, perforations, etc. I have a trip planned to South America at the beginning of February. If I have sigmoid surgery at the beginning of December, is it likely that I will feel good enough to travel in 2 months?

Player Chants

Huge shout out to TA:CO for another well organized, fun prefunk and march to the stadium!! What a fucking game!! I wanted to say that we LOVED the player chants and the spontaneous chants. The Fory to ‘Zombie’, the one more year Chara chant, the we got/we lost the ball, etc. They added a new dynamic to the game and put the focus on the players. So freaking fun!! I hope it carries over to Providence Park. RCTID. Proud to be a Timbers fan.

Flares and vitamins

Have been able to mostly avoid antibiotics by switching to a clear liquid diet for 3-4 days and going to a low residue diet for 1-4 weeks. I do worry about not getting nutrients like vitamin D, calcium (I have osteoporosis), etc. I’m also chronically anemic so I take iron consistently. Normally, I just don’t take anything during and post flare. Does anyone take vitamins, etc while you are still simmering? My flares are coming more frequently and I have been waiting 3 months to get into my gastroenterologist’s PA which is finally coming next month.
