Been caring for this tree for years and have no idea what it is.

Plant was grown from a mystery seed in another planter ordered online. Suspect tamarind but maybe mimosa (silk tree). It’s not a sensitive plant as it doesn’t react to touch. Nyctinastic at night. Photos of bark included.

Tree seems to enjoy unlimited moisture and will drop leaves it gets dry but will recover fine once watering is continued. I should probably repot it but would like to know what I’m dealing with before doing anything else for its care.

Whoops Edit: forgot to include the leaves are very soft and smooth, like touching silk

Letting Go… So it may GROW

Seeing this seed pod on transition of letting go of a flower, it’s just a reminder that sometimes we need to let go the past so that we can grow into the future.

From an elegant flower to a strong spiky pod.

Just beautiful. That is all.

Disclaimer: while this plant is medicinal, I find its beauty in growing it enough. I also like to save the pods for decoration. Anyone else?
