Mason EDC Announces Executive Director Transition
It is a bittersweet time here at our local economic development office. Our Executive Director, Kevin Shutty, will soon be leaving the nest to serve Mason County in a new capacity. While we are incredibly sad to see our director go, we are excited for him and wish him nothing but the best in this next chapter. Thankfully, he won’t be going far, so there will still be plenty of opportunities to grab a coffee and talk economic development.
Last Friday, we shared a press release announcing Kevin’s transition, which was recently picked up by West Sound Magazine. Their short article does a great job highlighting the transition and what it means for MasonEDC moving forward.

At the end of the day, our organization is incredibly proud of where we are today, and getting here didn’t happen overnight. It took strong leadership, encouragement to try new things, grace when those things didn’t always work out, support when we needed it most, and a shared commitment to strengthening Mason County’s economy.
I encourage folks to take three minutes to read the article and learn more about the transition.
MasonEDC also wants to thank all of our community partners, both public and private, for their continued support. Economic development is an art that no one person or organization can accomplish alone. It takes collaboration, trust, relationships, and people who genuinely care about the future of their community.
For that, we thank you.
