Local Servers Please Answer

Hello! I'm looking for part time work, preferably as a server/bartender. I plan on working this position for at least 2 to 3 years. However, it's come to attention that you must climb the ladder before "earning" that position within the workplace. So my question is to all the local servers.

  1. How did you start (host, food runner, etc.)?

  2. How long did it take to move up the ladder?

  3. Or were you able to just jump right in as a server without working an entry position?

For context I haven't worked yet and I'm 20. Anything helps!

Should I work as a server?

Hello everyone! I'm new here and was just wondering if people actually enjoy being a server/bartender? I haven't worked through high school and completed my first year of college. Now that I'm going into my second year I'm looking for some part time work. I feel like a server may be a good idea. But I want to know a few things first!

  1. Does it pay well (I'm a male if that changes how I'm tipped)?

  2. Where are the best places to work (the closest to me is a sports bar and grill)?

  3. Do coworkers usually see each other outside the workplace (because I feel gaining a friend who you work with is an added perk)?

  4. Is there anything that I should know before applying for the job (I don't know much at all about what the job entails)?

Thanks for reading and anything truly helps!

Where is a good place to make friends?

Hello! Does anyone know where someone could make some friends? I'm a 20 year old male looking to make some friends in Sudbury. I pretty much enjoy doing anything because I enjoy the company more than the activity. I'm looking more so for male friends due to the fact that I've been noticing my life is lacking a lot of male relationships through both friends and family. However, if I can make a female friend as well I welcome it! I've been feeling a little lonely lately and thought of joining a gym or something but don't know how likely it is to make a friend there. Any suggestions on where to go or what to do will be greatly appreciated! Thank you for reading

Is Arc Climbing Worth it?

Anything helps...if you haven't attended Arc any suggestions are appreciated, as my main goal is to get out more and make some new friends along the way! I've been looking for something to do recently that will get me out of the house more and where I can meet new people. I came across Arc Climbing and it is something that seems really interesting. But is it worth the membership fees? Also I want to meet new people around my age (20) and don't know if that's even a good place to meet people my age. Thanks for reading!
