Lexus NX 350h 2023 model VS BMW X3 2023 and above.
Hi everyone,
I'm really torn between a 2023 BMW X3 and a 2023 Lexus NX 350h, and I'd appreciate some advice from people who have owned either (or both). I'm based in the UK.
A bit of background: I normally keep my cars for around 3 years before changing them, so I'm not planning on keeping this one long term.
I've test-driven both, and here's what I thought:
- Lexus NX 350h – I loved the tech and the interior, but it felt a bit cramped compared to the X3. When I accelerated hard, the engine also got quite loud.
- BMW X3 – It felt much more spacious, drove better, and was quieter under acceleration. However, it didn't feel as modern or as tech-focused as the Lexus.
My biggest concern is reliability. I know Lexus has an excellent reputation, whereas BMWs often get mixed opinions. If I'm buying a 2023 model that's still under the manufacturer's warranty and only plan to keep it for about 3 years, is BMW reliability really something I should be worried about?

- Have you had any reliability issues with a 2023+ X3?
- Is the Lexus worth giving up some driving enjoyment for the extra peace of mind?
