Locked me out even with key in pocket.

Wondering if anyone has had this issue with their Lexus. (I have a 2026 Lexus NX360h Premium)

Took my dad to the grocery store, right as we were checking out I remote started the car with my phone to get the AC going. We got to the car opened the back, put our groceries in, then my dad got in the front passenger to wait while I ran into another store. Since the remote start states it’ll turn off in 10min I quickly hopped in the driver seat and turned on the car fully so he could sit in the car. The car shouldn’t turn off.

I walked in and forgot to ask my dad something, ran back out and asked him to roll down the window, it wouldn’t let him nor would it let him open his door, and even though I was next to the car with the key it wouldn’t let me open his door. I ran around to the drivers side and still couldn’t open the door.

The car was still on and I was standing outside with the key. My dad reached over and opened the driver’s door from the inside and ai was able to get in. What the heck happened. This scares me if I had my dog in the car. My car is only a month old so it’s not a dead key fob.

Also once we finally got the door opened I closed the drivers side door to see if it would lock me out again and it didn’t that time and opened right up.

2022 NX350H defrost button cover replacement

My button cover broke and I’m trying to find some way to get it fixed or replaced but the only options I’m seeing are to replace the entire infotainment system for $12k 🥲 does anyone know if there’s another way to get this button fixed? The button functions perfectly fine but seeing it as I drive makes me sad and I’m worried about what will happen if water gets in there.

Help me choose between Lexus nx350h and mazda cx-50 hybrid

Hey guys, first time post so sorry if I break some rules. I'm looking to finance a hybrid for 72 months with good credit (750+). 2 I'm looking at are the 30k mile 2024 Lexus nx350h premium with extra features that I like and a brand new 2026 cx-50 hybrid premium plus. I posted my best offers so far for each

Not sure if the Lexus is a good deal or not or worth it at that mileage. It's non CPO but has good Carfax. The used car dealership (not Lexus), without hesitation, agreed to have me bring it to a Lexus dealership for a pre purchase inspection. What do you guys think?

Edit: forgot to mention the Lexus has 18 months left on the original warranty. I haven't looked into purchasing additional warranty from a Lexus dealership but I'm not even sure if I'd do that yet

*Edit: I plan to ask for them to come down to $41k. Hopefully meet at $42k for the lexus which would also bring down the tax a bit

Not made for short people

Here’s something interesting I discovered as a short person in my 2026 NX350. I’m too short to get into the car without hitting my head. Why you ask? Especially when my 6’ husband has no problem? I’m 5’2”.

Here’s why.
The exit setting only goes back and forth. It does not have the ability to go up and down, like the RX. Even though the seats have the capacity to go up and down, the programming of the exit mode can’t be changed (I’m told)

So because I’m short, I have my seat raised higher to see over the dash. When I turn off the car, the seat slides back, steering wheel tilts up and I step out. But because of the sleek, lower profile of the window frame, coming back in does not allow me the headroom to step in (right leg first, followed by my bum and finally my left leg.). Can’t be done without ducking or hitting my head on the top window frame.

My husband’s seat for driving is set much lower to the floor, so when he exits the vehicle, it slides back the same way, but it’s already lower to the floor.

Common Lexus, I expected more from a luxury car like this. How ridiculous. My 2012 RX had the ability to move back and down on the exit mode.

My work around is to set the the programmable seat button 3 to an acceptable exit mode. That means remembering to press it going out of the car, and hitting my driving button #1 coming back in. What a pain! 😡

If anyone has any thoughts or suggestions I’d love to hear.

Lexus NX 350h 2023 model VS BMW X3 2023 and above.

Hi everyone,

I'm really torn between a 2023 BMW X3 and a 2023 Lexus NX 350h, and I'd appreciate some advice from people who have owned either (or both). I'm based in the UK.

A bit of background: I normally keep my cars for around 3 years before changing them, so I'm not planning on keeping this one long term.

I've test-driven both, and here's what I thought:

  • Lexus NX 350h – I loved the tech and the interior, but it felt a bit cramped compared to the X3. When I accelerated hard, the engine also got quite loud.
  • BMW X3 – It felt much more spacious, drove better, and was quieter under acceleration. However, it didn't feel as modern or as tech-focused as the Lexus.

My biggest concern is reliability. I know Lexus has an excellent reputation, whereas BMWs often get mixed opinions. If I'm buying a 2023 model that's still under the manufacturer's warranty and only plan to keep it for about 3 years, is BMW reliability really something I should be worried about?

For those who've owned either of these cars:

  • Which would you choose and why?
  • Have you had any reliability issues with a 2023+ X3?
  • Is the Lexus worth giving up some driving enjoyment for the extra peace of mind?

I'd really appreciate any real-world experiences. Thanks!

New NX owner with a question

Just got my 26 NX350h the other day. I’ve been through most of the settings but something is driving my crazy. The door lockout keeps getting set and unset. Today we pull in to Home Depot and my husband tries to exit the passenger door. He can’t! Either he or I needs to tap the lock button which is lit up. One of us taps that, the light goes out and he can’t leave. It seems to go on and off with no rhyme or reason that I can discern.

36 miles on and loving the car. Biggest bother for me right now is having to use a filler cap in the future. My last car of 12 years didn’t have one I had to unscrew. I feel like a Neanderthal!

Any thoughts?

Thanks!

Lexus NX 350h

Hi everyone,

I am planning to buy my very first Lexus! It has always been my favourite car brand, and I am currently looking at a 2024 Lexus NX 350h with a total budget of around £35k. I am planning to buy directly from an official Lexus main dealer showroom in the UK using a HP agreement because my goal is to fully own the car at the end.

For context, I am upgrading from a trusty 2008 Toyota Prius, so I love the hybrid system but want a massive upgrade in luxury and modern tech.

I have a few questions for the experts here:

1. Feedback on the 2024 NX 350h: For those who own or have driven one, what is your real-world feedback on the comfort, tech, and motorway driving?

  1. Buying from Lexus Showroom vs. Independent Traders: Is it a wise decision to stick strictly to the official Lexus approved-pre-owned network, or should I be looking at alternative car supermarkets/traders in the UK to get a better price?

  2. NX 350h vs. Brand New LBX: With my £35k budget, I could alternatively get a brand-new Lexus LBX. However, it looks like a "baby SUV" and quite small compared to the NX. Coming from a 2008 Prius, will the LBX feel like a downgrade in cabin and boot space?

Are there any other alternative models or aspects I should consider before signing the paperwork?

Thanks in advance!

Update: insurance paid $28k to fix my lease to OEM standards after hail damage

An update to this post from over two months ago. I don’t recommend getting caught in a hail storm. Dealing with this for so long sucked. Car was fixed at a Lexus certified repair shop + OEM everything.

Before anyone starts on the diminished value / “it should have been totaled” comments — it’s a lease. Totaling it would have meant I get NOTHING.

Having it fixed was the better scenario for me. I did not want to deal with getting a new car at this time. The payments would be higher + the time to find a new car would be significant. I leased bc I like the lower monthly payments + then I buy the car out at the end.
I am not doing that now due to what I understand is the diminished value of the car. (Side note - can anyone tell me why prior hail damage has such an impact on value if the car has documents proving it was repaired 100% correctly? I’m struggling to understand other than it just being a tactic to pay less for the car.) Either way, I will turn it in at lease end in 2 years.

On the turn in note, the car is fixed to OEM standards. No liability for my lease turn in, my duty to repair is fulfilled. I reviewed my lease terms. *Whether it’s valued differently in the market bc it had hail damage is not my problem.*

A lot of people asked how they would even fix it, here’s how they did it. No “bondo and paint”. New hood, new doors, new trim, new panels, new lift gate. Paint matches. Roof was not cut off. It was PDR’d. Left side was PDR’d. Lots of other things. The line item is like +200 things. It was truly insane.

This just speaks to the value of these cars. I am truly shocked my insurance paid almost $30k for this car rather than total out. (Shop was shocked too.) The car is worth about $65k and I had about $46k left to buy it out when this happened.

Anyway, going to go stare at my car now as it sits in the garage bc I missed her so much.

2017 Lexus NX 200T

I found this 2 owner, clean title Lexus for $20,900 with 60K miles. Is that a fair deal? Also, how reliable are they? I had a Honda Accord but unfortunately it was totaled.

Lexus NX 350 screen pixels

Hello has anyone had this problem? What did you do?
There are rainbow-like lines running down my infotainment screen. They may be dead pixels. I do have warranty. Will this cover it? I plan to make an appointment soon with my dealership.

Heads up display

I had to have my windshield replaced on my 2024 NX. Now the heads up display is off. Almost makes you feel crossed eyed when you look at it. I’ve had two other people confirm it’s the same for them. It’s very distracting. I know you can turn it off but I don’t want to. I’m taking it back tomorrow to Safelite but I am curious if anyone else has experienced anything similar.

Question CPO NX350H Premium 2024

I found a decent deal at my local dealership online, but have some questions before i go pull the trigger...

  1. it says it's a "no haggle internet price". is this a real thing?

  2. can i request the CPO inspection checklist before even seeing the car or will they only show me that in their office?

  3. Are there any standard features missing from the 2024 models that are in the 2025/2026 models that i need to worry about?

  4. any reason to not get this car? lol

Torn on which interior to go with

I'm about to pull the trigger on a brand new NX350h luxury trim in atomic silver and can't decide if I want Palomino or Rioja Red interior. My preference would be palomino but I worry about jean dye transfer issues with the lighter color. Can anyone comment how their palomino help up long term and did it require extensive upkeep? Is ceramic coating the interior highly recommended or is it a waste?

Cute lil bike hauler 🤍🚴‍♀️

For those who ride bikes, yesterday I had an OEM 2” hitch installed. It sits nicely under the bumper and works with our electric bike rack which is pretty heavy! Here’s some pics for your reference.

New to me 2019 300h.

Coming from a 2012 Prius V, also in pearly white. I was shopping for RAV4 hybrids, but the sticker shock got to me. Saw this baby on Facebook marketplace with 87k miles. Grabbed it for $24,000. Nicest car I've ever owned. It's like a super Prius. I call it Pearl.
