What counts as Travel these days?
Did I miss a memo that Chase no longer counts certain travel purchases as valid for 3X points?
I’ve had the CSR since it first launched and I’ve never kept a close eye on which purchases get 3X but in the last week I’ve made two purchases that I assumed would get 3X but haven’t. One was for train tickets on the Eurostar and the other was a deposit for an MSC cruise. Both are pretty obvious “travel” purchases but neither have the 3X.
What am I missing? Did something change when they reworked the card last year that restricted the travel category to the point where trains and cruises no longer count?
