Non responsive friends - how to put the ball in their court

I wrote a post earlier about non responsive friends and I got helpful feedback such as time to move on, etc.

I will move on, but I need to know how to set boundaries and put the responsibility on them to contact me.

I have just started, If I contact them once or twice (no more) and they say nothing or are busy, I tell them to send me a text or call when they have time.

Are they any other suggestions? I just want a clear cut method so they KNOW it is their turn to contact me. This will also prevent from wondering if I should continue to contact them.

I would also like to hear from people who consider themselves nonresponsive, do you think this method works or do you think I would be passive-aggressive/controlling.

Dealing with unresponsive "best" friends - Females in their 40s

How do you deal with unresponsive friends who don't initiate texting/conversation, say they are too busy to meet or chat, etc? I do know they are busy / stressed with various stuff. I was in their weddings. I won't cut them off but feel annoyed.

Now, I am ending texts with, let me know when you are free, to show the ball is in their court. But, I may not hear from them in awhile (or at all)? How else to show the ball is in their court?

I am planning to stop texting all together, as I am the one who usually initiates. Should I only reach out to see when they are free to hang out? Now, I feel like, if they want to know what's going on with me, we should meet up. Should I say, if they ask how I am, I'll tell you when we meet in person?

What is the best way to stay in touch with unresponsive friends? I feel with one of them, she has a pride issue and prefers to be contacted.

Meal plan - hw to incorporate more vegetables in diet?

I have not been eating too many vegetables, but now planning to change. My meals have been carb and meat heavy, and fruits. My first major change I have made is eating a salad before my main meal for lunch, and cutting down my fruit consumption to one or two per day.

Here is my weekday meal plan now:

7am - eggs, avocado, and/or tuna patties.

9am - a fruit (usually an apply or orange)

12pm - a small salad (greens, cheese (feta/blue cheese), nuts), then main meal (curry or stir fry with small amount of basmati rice)

3pm - baby carrots

6pm - main meal (curry or stir fry with small amount of basmati rice, tacos, meat and potatoes, etc.)

7pm - a fruit

For weekends, I don't eat breakfast but just have coffee. I just eat my two main meals at similar times plus two servings of fruit. My family doesn't eat salads or too much veggies, so that does influence my weekend meals (for weekdays, I do more meal lunch prep).

I am following Glucose Goddess and she says to eat veggies/fiber first. Any ideas on how to add more veggies/fiber at the beginning of a meal without the ordeal of making a salad? Something quick I can snack on first (carrots, cucumber, etc.) before eating?

Any suggestions on my meals/meal schedule is appreciated.

Confused about fruits

I'm 40F. 5.9 a1C, 87 fasting glucose, 10.3 fasting insulin, high LDL cholesterol, low/normal triglycerides.

JUST TWO MONTHS AGO, I had 5.8 a1C, 77 fasting glucose, high LDL cholesterol, and HIGH triglycerides. Following these results, I cut out most fast food and processed foods, as well as store-bought chocolate like Twix and KitKat (I don't eat much of these chocolate anyway).

What is causing the increase in a1C and fasting glucose? I eat about 3 or 4 servings of fruits per day (one or two oranges, a small apple, and a small bowl of cherries/berries) daily. I thought these are low glycemic fruits? I don't eat breads or pastas, just low-glycemic basmati rice. I do eat a lot of ground beef (daily) and eggs, which helps to explain high LDL. I haven't been eating legumes recently to cut down on carbs. What should I do differently? Diabetes does run in the family.

What are some unique Tokyo experiences? I am thinking of things like capsule hotels, solo booth dining, Shibuya crossing etc.

Remain in Tokyo or go somewhere else?

First time in Japan. I arrive in Tokyo on a Sunday for a week long health conference, and will have the following Saturday through Wednesday to sightsee. Should I just stay in Tokyo or try to go somewhere else like Kyoto for my remaining days? I don't think I will have much sightseeing time during the conference week. If I have dinner at different spots around Tokyo during the week, is that enough? Are two nights in Hakone too much? The other day trip options from Tokyo don't look too good. I'm female mid-40s. Looking for recommendations for my 5 days.
