Apparently I’ve been making crispy potatoes wrong this whole time
I always used to cut potatoes into cubes, season them with oil and spices, and throw them straight into the oven. They tasted fine, but they never got as crispy as the ones you get at restaurants.
Then I saw someone say to boil the potatoes for a few minutes before roasting them, and give them a little shake in the pot to rough up the edges.
Tried it yesterday and honestly, the difference was ridiculous.
The outside turned golden and crunchy while the inside stayed soft and fluffy. Same potatoes, same oven, just one extra step.
Now I’m annoyed thinking about all the years I’ve been eating mediocre roasted potatoes without realizing what I was missing :))
