USJ Ticketing from India

Hi,

I would be travelling to Japan soon, and wanted to book USJ Tickets Express Pass. I went through a lot of threads on Reddit related to it. Most of them mentioned that International Credit Cards don't work properly on the USJ Website.

I was able to book the tickets using Diners Club Black Metal card on usjticketing.com, and faced no issues whatsoever.

Also, I was observing the booking opening time for around 2 weeks before the date when I was actually supposed to book. If anyone is planning to book on Klook, I noticed that every time the booking on Klook opened on T+1 morning as opposed to T evening on usjticketing.com, by which time already a lot of express pass had been sold out. Also the booking on Japanese version of USJ opens a few minutes before the English version.

Won a chargeback against The Sleep Company (Stylux chair) using Axis Credit Card

Hey everyone,

The Drama & Timeline:

  • Background: I already have a Stylux chair from The Sleep Company that I purchased around 2024, and it reclines perfectly as advertised. Because of that great experience, I was expecting a similar experience with a new Stylux chair.
  • May 25th: I bought the Stylux chair from The Sleep Company. The website explicitly claimed it reclined up to 135 degrees.
  • May 26th (Installation): The chair was installed, but the thing barely tilted and clearly wasn't hitting 135 degrees. The technician who installed it straight-up told me that per manufacturing, it only reclines up to 120 degrees anyway.
  • May 27th: I raised another ticket immediately. A second technician visited to inspect it, checked everything out, and confirmed that the installation was completely fine—meaning the 120-degree limit was just how the chair was built.

The Support Nightmare: I raised the issue with their customer care team again and did multiple email follow-ups. They finally replied saying they checked with their manufacturing unit, and yes, the chair only goes up to 120 degrees. When I pointed out that their own website explicitly advertised 135 degrees, they literally told me it was just "old data" on the site.

I told them flat out that this is fraudulent advertising and demanded a return and full refund. After checking with their internal management, they double-downed and denied it, saying that since the chair was built according to their "internal specs," a refund wasn't possible.

The Double Attack & Resolution:

  • June 5th: Realizing they weren't going to budge, I went ahead and filed an official ticket on the National Consumer Helpline portal (consumerhelpline.gov.in). Just a heads-up for anyone using it: it moves slow (it's actually still under process after 34 days).
  • The Parallel Move: Because the consumer forum takes time, I simultaneously went straight to Axis Bank to file a credit card chargeback under the "Goods Not as Described" category. I filled out the bank's dispute form, emailed it to their credit card dispute team, and CC’d the premium cards desk. I attached every piece of proof: screenshots of the 135° claim, the emails admitting the website data was "old," and their final refund rejection.
  • June 15th: Just ten days after raising the issue, Axis reviewed the prima facie evidence and granted a temporary credit to my credit card account while they finalized the investigation.
  • July 9th: After reviewing everything, the dispute was officially settled in my favour and the credit became permanent!

What I learned:

  • Get everything in writing: Their email admitting the website had "old data" was the absolute nail in the coffin. The bank can't ignore a literal admission of false advertising.
  • Attack from both sides: Don't just rely on consumer forums if the merchant is being stubborn. File a parallel chargeback with your bank to secure your money quickly via temporary credit while the legal wheels turn in the background.
  • "Company policy" isn't law: A brand's internal specs or return policy don't give them a free pass to lie on their website.

Super happy Axis actually backed me up on this.

TL;DR: Bought a Stylux chair from The Sleep Company expecting it to recline 135° like advertised on their site (and like a previous 2024 model I own). Technicians confirmed it only physically handles 120°, and customer care refused a refund, claiming the 135° online spec was just "old data." Filed a case with the National Consumer Helpline and a parallel "Goods Not as Described" chargeback with Axis Bank. Got temporary credit in 10 days, and the bank officially closed the dispute in my favor today!
