Starting my new career as a heavy duty apprentice next week. Questions and advice?
Do you measure every bolt for proper tool selection? I'm going to be working at a Semi Truck and Trailer Dealer/Repair Shop which specializes for a certain make of Semis. Will there be a procedure for everything and indicates tool selection etc? I've seen some bolt measuring tools and I'm not sure if they're a gimmick or practical.
Any perks employees usually have?
I was a welder for over a decade and needed to make a change for my own well being. Any tips would be greatly appreciated for someone starting over as a heavy duty truck mechanic apprentice.
New Tool Day, starting new career as a Semi Truck and Trailer mechanic apprentice soon. This is half of what I bought so far. What do you guys think?
Previously a welder for 14 years and deciding to go into mechanics which I've always been interested in. Lots of tools to buy but almost all of them have a lifetime warranty! 56" long tool chest already at the shop waiting to be loaded. Grabbing the MAXIMUM® 300pc chrome socket set tomorrow.
