The Worst Hand of Euchre Ever Played
Let me tell you a story of the worst hand of Euchre ever played.
Round 1
So it starts with a score of 4-5 with me in seat 3 with the following hand:
Js Jc Qs Qc Kh
Upcard is the Ks
Passes to me and I order up, naturally.
1st Street
My partner leads the 9s, so we're off to a good start.
S2 shows void by playing the 9c.
I play the Js
Dealer plays the Ts
Tricks: 1-0
2nd Street
I didn't really like that S2 was void. There's the As and Ks out there. If I play the Jc and dealer has both trump, I'm at risk of losing an offsuit and getting euchred.
I decide to play the Qc to try and force dealer to trump in.
Dealer plays the Tc
S1 plays the Kc
S2 plays the Ac
Tricks: 1-1
3rd Street
S2 leads the Ad.
I'm in a bind, if I play off and my partner can't take it, I'll just face another S2 lead with dealer able to play off their diamond if they have one. So I trump in with the Qs hoping dealer has a diamond.
Dealer over-trumps the Ks (Ugh!)
S1 plays the 9d
Tricks: 1-2
4th Street
Dealer plays the Ah
S1 plays the Qh (Agony)
S2 plays the Td
I have to play the Kh and face a euchre.
Tricks 1-3
5th Street
Dealer plays the meaningless Jh
S1 plays the Ace of fricken spades!
S2 plays Qd
I take the trick with the Jc.
Tricks 2-3
Summary
For anyone keeping track, me and partner had 5 of the 7 trump and 4 of the top 5 trump (RLAQ) and still managed to find a way to lose this hand.
