Bandi Sanjay’s son, Bandi Bhageerath, confessed to the crime.

The Cyberabad Commissioner released a press statement stating that the accused, Bandi Bhageerath, admitted to committing severe sexual assault on a minor girl.

Police have registered a case under Sections 5(1) and 6 of the POCSO Act, 2012.

Under these sections, the accused could face punishment ranging from around 20 years imprisonment to life imprisonment.

In the Bandi Bhageerath POCSO case, the minor girl is reportedly not the only victim.

It is alleged that four other girls were also cheated and exploited by Bandi Bhageerath.

Shocking details came out in the High Court, and it was argued that more victims are now coming forward one by one.

Instead of seriously covering the case, they are ignoring the allegations and blaming the minor girl.

Question: So if you have money, political power, media backing, influencer networks and an IT cell machinery… does that make you untouchable in this country?

Why are so many Telugu journalists, influencers, YouTubers and BJP ecosystem accounts behaving like PR managers instead of asking serious questions? Why is there more effort to manage perception than to demand accountability?

And one more uncomfortable question Telangana must ask:

Why does it increasingly look like BJP and Congress are secretly working together in Telangana when it comes to protecting each other politically?

Many people now openly feel that CM Revanth Reddy is going soft on his “friend” Bandi Sanjay instead of ensuring complete transparency and strict action. If this was truly about justice alone, why is there so much political caution from all sides?

We all know what happened at Mahindra University.. Allegations of arrogance, intimidation, violence and openly misusing his father’s influence were spoken about by students even back then. Today, the same concerns are resurfacing publicly, but suddenly everyone wants silence.

And now his father is Union Minister of State for Home Affairs. Is this why so many people are scared to speak honestly? Is power now bigger than law?

If an ordinary citizen faced allegations in a case involving a minor, would the media behave this carefully? Would influencers suddenly become “neutral”? Would political parties avoid attacking each other?

Hyderabad, forget party loyalties for one minute.

Sometimes it honestly feels like the safest option is to leave the country and live peacefully somewhere far away from political power games.

The original FIR, registered on 8 May, carried charges under Sections 74 and 75 of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita and Sections 11 read with 12 of the POCSO Act, sexual harassment offences carrying a maximum sentence of three to five years.

The charges now stand altered to Section 5(I) read with Section 6 of the POCSO Act. Invoking Section 5 revises the charges from sexual harassment to aggravated penetrative sexual assault.

Section 5(I) of POSCO refers to penetrative sexual assault causing survivors hurt or causing bodily harm and injury or injury to the sexual organs of the child.

Section 6 prescribes the punishment: a minimum of 20 years’ rigorous imprisonment, extendable to life imprisonment, meaning the remainder of the convict’s natural life, or death, along with a fine paid to the survivor for medical expenses and rehabilitation.

The upgrade matters for two reasons.

First, it reflects what the survivor told investigators when she recorded her statement, an account that apparently went significantly beyond what the original FIR captured.

Second, it dismantles the central legal argument Bhageerath’s counsel advanced in the anticipatory bail petition filed before the Telangana High Court on Monday.

But the truth is…

When we examined all the FIRs registered at Nirmal Police Station on 21-04-2026, the FIR mentioned by Bandi Bhageerath simply did not exist.

Eventually, even the Nirmal Police clarified that the claims made by Union Minister Bandi Sanjay’s son, Bandi Bhageerath, were factually incorrect.

Instead of allowing a fair investigation, Bandi Sanjay is clearly misusing his position and influence to protect his son, who is accused of sexually assaulting a minor girl.

If this case is not to be diluted or buried, Bandi Sanjay must immediately resign from his responsible position as Union Minister of State for Home Affairs and ask his son to surrender before the police.

Now, Telangana has surpassed Gujarat to claim the top position nationally, marking a significant achievement in rural development and governance.

If we look back to 2014, Gram Panchayats in Telangana had minimal development, weak infrastructure, limited financial autonomy, and low administrative capacity. Basic services were inconsistent, and many villages lacked structured planning and effective governance systems.
