I waited patiently for a year to confirm this, but I can confidently say the crowd is NOT bad and everyone online just has terrible observation skills.

First of all, if you're not at the venue or have never been to a venue then you don't even have a say in this matter.

Next, those wackos dunking on the Tokyo crowd have been wrong this whole time. Look how quickly they switch up saying "Tokyo was better as a crowd" (this is not even true, both crowds look about the same to me)

Finally, beatbox is not extremely niche anymore like it was pre-COVID. The venue is big, the crowds are bigger, more non-beatboxers are attending, and more people can attend for the first time. The format of one battle day is also long, so don't expect someone to be shouting the entire time.

Rules change and as you heard moshing and such is not allowed for the safety and enjoyment of others. I agree with these decisions because GBB is trying to maintain professionalism at a global level with mixed cultures, which also contribute to the delivery of different music styles on stage.

I'm not anyone important in the community to be saying this, so feel free to criticize. I myself am watching from home so I can't really say anything about the venue, but I have been to live beatbox events before so I understand the massive difference.

You will probably see me pop up in a lot of the recent posts and that's because I have nobody else to talk to about all of these amazing performances and battles lol. Looking forward to tomorrow!

What makes this battle so special is not the clashing of two very different styles, but a key moment that happened during Codfish's first round.

He was perhaps reluctant (I do not speak on behalf of his intention) to use the laser sound, but he let one through during his routine to which Kaji instantly reacted with a signal.

For those that don't know, Codfish used that exact sound to perfectly counter Bataco in 2018 during what is one of the most memorable moments in GBB history. It's also ironic that Bataco is from Japan as well.

Kaji then proceeded to base his second round off of the laser sound (Love You To Kill), which I believe he pulled out just to call against Codfish. We already knew from the year before that the laser sound is one of Kaji's favorites and that none can really do it like him.

All in all it was an excellent counter, a fire round, and a callout to Codfish's laser which could also be seen as a callout to his appearance in 2018 against Bataco. One could even say Kaji got revenge on Bataco's behalf. It's too iconic.

I think this is quite iconic and I honestly didn't pick up on the laser sound from Codfish during my first watch, but it just makes all the more sense now. It was a crazy battle even without the context!

Here's why:

- runner-up at a qualifier for GBB (runner-up literally means somebody who should take the place of winner for any reason they can't participate)

- it takes more effort to make it as far as Osis than it does to submit a wildcard, and its also more evidence that they would be better to watch at GBB

- the comeback wildcard is literally a BS mechanic for selecting a fan-favorite beatboxer, if we can have that then we can prioritize a 2nd place winner if the 1st place is already qualified.

- Osis would've had the chance to rematch KI, which spices things up for the audience as well

- Osis is literally so cool and one of the best beatboxers right now, he is guaranteed to give a good performance at GBB

Admittedly, Osis should have submitted a wildcard as well. The real reason is that King Inertia forfeited his wildcard positioning to instead qualify as the GBC winner, so Osis should have essentially had his backup plan. Still, I think this situation doesn't happen often.

- Yaswede vs DICE GBB25

- DICE himself in Yaswede vs DICE

- Martin Benati vs DICE (not the full drop but still counts)
