How I felt about UMPJE walking out.

I took the test yesterday and I did feel like this was definitely different than the Naplex. Answer choices were less than the Naplex which made it both easier and harder. If you really didn’t study you will be tricked on answer choices because they all seem plausible but there is a best answer. I felt like I was able to see through a lot of those questions since I studied for a little under a month and I did a lot of practice questions. I would definitely use the pharmpreppro practice questions for this exam, definitely a huge help.

Repetition definitely is needed for this exam for studying. Just reading your study guide once definitely isn’t enough. There’s so much tested material that if I didn’t read my study guide many times I definitely would of missed something

I Passed! I don’t have to eat my shirt!

I wanted to follow up and share that I passed!

Study time: About 2 months

My practice exam scores:
NABP Pre-NAPLEX: 94 - taken 19 days before my exam
PharmPrepPro Practice Exam 1: 76% - taken 18 days before my exam
PharmPrepPro Practice Exam 2: 80% - taken 7 days before my exam

I felt cautiously optimistic after the exam, but it was still difficult to know how I actually performed. I am extremely relieved and grateful that all the studying and practice paid off.

You can see the topics I had on my NAPLEX, the resources I used, and my full exam experience here:

Thank you to everyone in this community who shared advice and encouragement. My friends told me I’d have to eat my shirt if I failed my exam so I’m happy I’m saved from that. Good luck to everyone currently preparing you’ve got this!

Took the NAPLEX Today - info

I took the NAPLEX today and wanted to share my experience while everything is still fresh in my mind. Reddit was very helpful during my preparation, so I hope this post helps someone else who is getting ready to take the exam.

I obviously do not have my results yet, but I walked out feeling fairly good overall. I finished the exam in 3.5 hours. At the same time, it is difficult to know how I actually performed because there were definitely some questions I was unsure about, but I made sure I didn’t spent an obscene amount of time on those questions. I basically accepted my fate and gave my best educated guess and moved on.

My Practice Exam Scores
NABP Pre-NAPLEX: 94: taken 19 days before my exam
PharmPrepPro Practice Exam 1: 76: taken 18 days before my exam
PharmPrepPro Practice Exam 2: 80: taken 7 days before my exam
I felt good about these scores going into the exam, especially after improving from a 76% to an 80% on the PharmPrepPro exams. Now I am waiting for my official result and hoping I did enough to pass on my first attempt.

Resources I Used
UWorld 2026 Book and Question Bank
This was provided by my school. The book was an excellent resource. It explains the material in a very organized and clear way, and it does a great job of simplifying complex topics. I honestly wish I had it throughout pharmacy school.

The question bank was very helpful for practice, but the questions were extremely difficult. They were much harder and more complicated than most of the questions I saw on the actual NAPLEX. Even my girlfriend who took the exam before me felt the same way.

Still, I would rather be overprepared than underprepared. The UWorld math questions were particularly intimidating, but they pushed me to improve. The math on my actual exam was closer to the easier and moderate UWorld questions than the most difficult ones.

I highly recommend both the book and question bank despite the difficulty. They were great for content review.

PharmPrepPro Ethics and Pharmacy Management Packets and Full-Length Practice Exams

I thought the packets and practice exams were worth it. They came with a lot of material and practice questions. The practice exams were timed for six hours. I went over the time limit by approximately five minutes when I took the first one. That practice run helped me recognize where I was wasting time and taught me when to move on from a difficult question.

The exams covered a broad range of disease states and helped me identify my weak areas. I scored a 76% on the first exam and improved to an 80% on the second exam. In terms of overall style and difficulty, the PharmPrepPro exams felt similar to the actual NAPLEX. The real exam had a mix of straightforward questions and questions that required more careful consideration. I would recommend these resources, especially for practicing time management and completing a realistic full-length exam.

My NAPLEX Experience
My biggest piece of advice is that if you start panicking, take a moment to reset your brain.
That happened to me during the exam. I started feeling overwhelmed, but I stopped for a moment, took a breath, and reminded myself to focus on one question at a time. Once I calmed down, the questions felt much more manageable.

Most of the questions did not seem designed to trick me. In many cases, I either knew the material or I did not. I did not see many of the extremely multilayered and overly complicated questions that are common in UWorld.

Some questions were surprisingly straightforward, while others involved details that I either did not remember or had not focused on enough during my preparation. Time management is extremely important. Try not to spend too much time on one question because you cannot return to it after submitting your answer.

Topics I Remember from My Exam
Hypertension
Pregnancy status
Potassium levels
Renal function
Hypertensive emergency versus urgency
Calcium channel blockers used in heart failure
Heart Failure
Recommended medications
Guideline-directed medical therapy
Monitoring parameters
Arrhythmias
Mechanisms of action
Monitoring requirements for certain medications
Selecting a drug based on the clinical scenario
Gastrointestinal Disorders
When to use proton pump inhibitors
Medications that interact with PPIs
Treatment of opioid-induced constipation
Selecting constipation treatments based on the underlying cause
Immunizations
Live versus inactivated vaccines
Recommendations for special populations
Vaccination considerations for patients with HIV
Inflammatory Bowel Disease
Medication formulations
Sleep Disorders
I expected an insomnia question, but the question I received was related to narcolepsy treatment
Pharmacokinetics
Half-life
Percentage of a drug remaining after a certain amount of time
First-order versus zero-order elimination
Seizures
Mechanisms of action
Adverse effects
Brand and generic name matching
Gout and Rheumatology
Mechanisms of action of first-line treatments
Methotrexate dosing intervals
Neurology and Psychiatry
Medications associated with specific adverse effects
First-line treatment for anxiety other than benzodiazepines
What to do when a stimulant causes nausea or sickness
Oncology
Management of nausea after initial treatment failure

Final Thoughts
Read the UWorld book carefully and make sure you understand the major concepts in every section. Some topics are tested more heavily than others, but the specific content appears to vary from person to person. I had a lot of psychiatry questions but very little oncology or immunization content. My girlfriend’s exam focused more heavily on cardiology and infectious.

The questions are unpredictable, so try to be as well-rounded as possible. Do not completely ignore smaller topics just because they seem less likely to appear.

Practice completing full-length timed exams. Do not let time management be the reason you are unable to finish. Overall, I walked out feeling cautiously optimistic, but I know it is normal to remember the questions you missed more than the ones you answered correctly. Now I just have to wait for my result. Hope this helps. Sorry I used AI a bit to write this, mainly for grammar, because there was a lot and I really didn’t feel like correcting every spelling mistake.

Practice exam scores (NABP and PharmPrepPro)

NABP: 94 (12 days ago)
Pharmpreppro exam 1: 76 (11 days ago)
Pharmpreppro exam 2: 80 (yesterday)

I still have a little bit of time left to study. I’m feeling really good with this scores. What do you all think on my terms of passing first try?

Pharmpreppro exam 76

I still have a bit of time to study and haven’t taken the second PPP exam. On nabp I got a 94 but I don’t know how much I should trust that since it didn’t have any ethic questions. I feel the majority of the questions I got wrong on PPP were either from the ethics/management questions and some of the clinical questions like depression/seizures etc.

What do you all think on my terms of passing first try. I still will take the other PPP exam soon after reviewing

Anyone else find it crazy how much info we need to know

I feel a bit of this is just not needed. Like when will I ever need to look at a gram stain or calculate the excretion rate of a drug.
