HG & SEVERE constipation HELP
Help! Currently 10 weeks pregnant and have been to the ER 3 times for awful HG symptoms. I’m on 8mg zofran and 25mg promethazine. I’ve also been given Reglan but I don’t think it’s as effective as the zofran. I am so severely constipated it has landed me in the ER twice and I have tried almost everything (enemas, suppositories, miralax, milk of magnesia, and magnesium citrate.) The enemas and suppositories barely do anything and I throw up miralax and mag cit everytime. I handled 45mg of milk of magnesia for a few days and it helped me pass a movement the following day but now I just throw it up. I’m taking stool softeners each night and I’m almost done with my second bottle. The doctor wants to start me on IV fluids and meds a few times a week but I have to wait for it to be cleared with insurance.
I AM LOSING MY MIND with how sick I feel. If I skip the zofran I will absolutely be puking my guts up. Even with the zofran I’m still nauseous and only able to tolerate maybe 20oz of water being sipped all day. I’ve tried Gatorade and all the other drinks. I’m also not able to eat hardly at all. I’m trying to back away from the zofran and try the Reglan more it just depends on if I can keep anything down with the Reglan.
I have no clue how women have endured this before because it is driving me crazy. What helped you have bowel movements/eat/drink?
