Landlord [USA VA]

My landlord got pissed off that we asked to keep the AC on. There’s a heatwave, temp at least 100 & request was met with an angry response. Are we wrong in asking for AC? We feel like husband made the decision to rent without discussing with wife because while we have always been extremely respectful of the opportunity to rent, she does not seem thrilled about our presence. One day we were walking to our door to come home & we heard her yelling, “it’s MY house & I don’t want anyone in it!”
He is so wonderful & we absolutely love him. It’s very depressing here & we really don’t deserve her anger. All we did was answer an ad for an apt. 😔

Landlord making us miserable renting (VA)

VA. - Started out great. Then my car got vandalized 2 days in a row. Thinking it was the neighbor. Wondering if landlord’s wife was not part of the decision to rent out the first floor. She’s ALWAYS screaming & yelling. All morning, all day long & into the night. Sometimes she’s blasting death metal for hours & it’s so loud the walls are shaking. This is her new thing. We are extremely quiet & respectful. I watch movies on my laptop but not loud. I can hear her complaining (I’m guessing on phone to husband) she complains she can hear the toilet flush, the cupboards close, the microwave, me on the phone, that my hours that I work are not long, my boyfriend’s hours (to be fair he works nights but he’s extremely quiet), she complains about the water, the electric (😳 $100 per month). Walls are thin because we hear her pacing all day & night 🫩 yelling, running water, cupboards we can even hear when someone pees. But we don’t mind that. It’s the fact that she’s screaming & yelling all the time about us & criticizing everything. Husband loves us. It’s her. Wondering if I should just go to him & say” listen, she clearly isn’t happy, can we leave & have our security please?” Or should I wait it out?
I can only get about 3 hours sleep a night with all of this. Sometimes I just stay at work & sit in my car so I don’t have to come home.
