Leonardo turtle, War Boys, CC or Zorro?

The arm on my maestro was either floppy or tightened in place so I elected to go for a fixed position. At some point I noticed a strange noise that sounded exactly like a string buzz on either the g or b strings. However if I strummed them immediately muted the strings the buzz carried on resonating. I thought there might a a tiny spring or even the winding on the end of the string come loose. Took the whole tremolo apart looking for anything but found nothing. Eventually I noticed that if I just touched the arm of the trem the buzzing muted.

I decided to mute it from inside and solve the flipping arm by installing a tiny o ring between the white washer on the arm and the plate of the tremolo. Now the arm stays where I want and there is no buzz but I still never actually found what was making the noise. Just wanted to post in case anyone else had this or wanted a solution to the arm flopping.
