Paramo repair

Before I start let me make clear that I have sent a form off to Paramo for some advice.

However I wanted to ask on here to see how people with a similar problem might have rectified it.

I have a Velez Light smock that I bought 9 years ago and I have noticed a slight tear on the back of each shoulder near the stitching where my rucksack straps have been rubbing all these years.

A pal of mine doesn't think that stitching them back up is going to be a long-term fix because that area has been weakened.

They suggested something like a patch which can be sewed around it.

I will add some photos.

Thoughts?

Two questions re X-Dome guylines

I know that at least one of these questions has been asked on this sub before but I want to consolidate these two questions together.

  1. Are 3m (10 feet) guy lines going to be sufficient for guying out the X-Dome 1+?

  2. Has anyone tried using a running bowline as a quick attachment method for guy lines?

Which carrier choice for Durston kit to the UK?

I'm sorely tempted to purchase my second piece of Durston kit but I've gone in to estimate shipping costs and I'm getting two choices:

FedEx express

DHL express worldwide

If I hit the button I don't know if it will just narrow it down to one carrier but I'm curious if anyone has any advice on which might be better.

I vaguely recall seeing posts complaining about one of them but I can't remember which.
