Hey,

Went to my own vet and made an X-ray. Which showed she had severe MBD and the arm on the left was broken. She said the option was either to try and fix the leg at a specialist and then try to fix the MBD with force feeding or to euthanize. Quality of life is not promised with the first option and the MBD had progressed pretty far.

Honestly don’t know what else to say, I don’t know how I could’ve missed this. I always give her calcium, have UVB etc. Just wanted to vent and ask opinions on this. Sorry if this isn’t what the sub is for.

Edit: pretty wrecked about this but honestly if she’s in pain I don’t wanna prolong that. But if there’s a chance at recovery I would rather do that. Any advice?

So after I went to the vet he practically said he didn’t really know what was wrong. It could be gout and he said that she was a bit dehydrated.

She does have feeling in her front legs that’s something he established. So that’s a relief. She isn’t using them yet.

How can dehydration happen? Like the humidity is between 70/90% (before quarantine setup). Is there a way to encourage her to drink water? Right now I’m manually inserting water in her mouth(vet said that it might help). She does not enjoy that so I would rather have another method :)

My skink had been inactive for a day so of course I was worried an checked her out. I found these wounds? On both her front feet. The vet opens Monday so I’ll bring her right away. Not something that needs to be discussed. Anyone know what this can be?
I’ve been busy with making her terrarium a quarantine one so removing ground and plants so that the wounds won’t get any worse. Also bathed her and cleaned the wounds as best as I could. Anything else I can do until vet appointment?

Also went to the vet on Wednesday because I was worried about something else and he said there wasn’t anything wrong so it’s something recent.

Something’s about it: It’s like there are scales missing, like she scraped them off. Also won’t move her legs even when touched or wounds getting cleaned.

So I redid his terrarium a month ago, is there something I can add to it or change to make it better? Wanna keep on improving it so he won’t be bored.

Hello everyone,

I tried introducing new insects to my skink. He didn’t really like the larvae tho. Like literally doesn’t eat them. Would rather eat his greens so that’s something that gives it away.

Question is. What should I do with the larvae?
