Community norms for posting identifying info about others met at EF.

What are the general norms around posting identifying info about others met at the festival—? What are best practices for this and accepted standards in community?

In this day and age, with proliferation of surveillance and use of information about individuals to make hiring decisions relevant to their careers and it’s ability to affect employment opportunities this is a huge question in my mind.

People deserve their privacy if they want it.

E.g. I took some pictures of cool people I met at the festival with their permission but I’m hesitant to post them to help them find the pictures of themselves because I don’t know what they do for a living and I don’t know what the ramifications could be for someone else recognizing them because I posted a picture of them.

Maybe they told her employer that they were taking care of their sick grandma and then this pops up on the Internet and they get fired. Likewise maybe someone at the festival had a stalker and me intentionally posting a picture of them is what lead said stalker to finally be able to locate where they live or other information that was missing that was keeping that person from being identified.

I don’t want to doxx others and I don’t want to doxx myself.
