Is this gap on the upper Damper mount normal?

Hey,

I'm a proud owner of a new Propain Spindrift AL Frameset. I've ridden Carbon Fiber Bikes before and now I have a Question concerning a gap I just found on the inner Part of the upper damper mount.

I'm not sure if this might be a problem or if this is normal. The weld, where the forces are applied is on the outside of the mount, but still the gap is different on both sides of the mount.

Maybe someone can compare to their own frame and help me out.

Thanks a lot.

Have a great week and keep shredding.

Finally finished my DJ Project

Frame: used NS Bikes Movement 2

New Parts:

Wheels: Reverse Components Black One DJ

Fork: SR Suntour Zeron 35 Air, traveled to 100mm (45€ total)

Tires: Maxxis DTH

Brake: Magura MT5 Calliper with Shimano XT Lever

Furthermore installed new Grips, Pedals, & Bottom Bracket.

Might switch to black pedals, but these Pedals were like 14€ and are great, but unfortunately the colors aren't matching exactly.

I'm planning to ride it mostly in Skateparks in and outdoor in my area. Sadly there aren't many dirt spots so I need to start in these parks.

I would apreciate some Tips how to start now. I already ride Enduro and Downhill, so what are some basics I could learn first (except Bunnyhop and Manual of course.

I'm happy to be able to finally start my journey and wish you all a great week 🤙

Frame Damage. Repair or just seal and ride on?

Hey,

My Cube Two 15 HPC has some damage on the bottom bracket. It looks like there might be 2 layers of carbon fiber damaged.

However, coin test does sound normal, an the scratch/scar is maximum 0.5mm deep.

However I wanna ride on Saturday, so my options are:

Using another Bike (sad) and repair the damage myself via Carbon fiber patches (200g/m2)

Sealing the damage with epoxy and ride it on saturday and repair it afterwards.

Ride like this on saturday and repair it afterwards

Not doing anything other than seasling the damage and hopeing that it wont crack there.

So I need some advice and experience in this situation, maybe on of u has similar damages and experience with it.

Thanks for every help.

(I already posted this in r/mtb but it was taken down because of their no picture rule)

Ps: I could also take it to an carbon fiber repair shop as well, but they dont use unidirectional carbon fibre so I think i can also do the repair patch myself, I am experienced in stuff like laminating. Also unidirectional fibre doesnt make sense at such a small spot imo

Hey,

I recently bought a NS Bikes Movement 2 that needs some love and Upgrades. I weigh about 85 kg so I think that the Fork with Coil Spring might be too soft (X Fusion Mig 27,5).

I have the opportunity to get a new SR Suntour Zeron 35 27,5" Air LOR with 130mm for 45 Bucks. My Idea ist to travel it with spacers down to 100mm to use it as DJ Fork. Maybe I need some Volume Spacers as well for more Progression.

Final cost would be around 70-80 Bucks. I'm totally new into Dirtjumping (have riden Trails on my Enduro before) and try to get a decent Bike without spending more than 500 Bucks in total. (Bike 290, new Grips 10, new Pedals 15, New Tires 60, Fork 80, new Bottom Braket 15, magura mt5 30)

Do you think this might be a good first budget upgrade?
