NBD…

Worth the wait, just shy of 3 months for the build. It’s great… I can’t believe that is as much fun going up as going down.

This bike is so damn sick

I've taken it on some proper rides since I've had it, and it always leaves me smiling.

NBD Spindrift 5 AL

Mainly bought it as a bike park rig. My dh bike was feeling like a tank and I wanted something more playful. Took it out today and it was great so far. Still handled the pro line dh track (not quite as well as my dh but still very capable), but much better on the jump lines.

Planning to drop a smashpot in the fork, might mess around with a dual crown on it at some point. Vivid coil feels great so far, and the fox 38 is noticeably more plush than my older fox 40.

I really love the df system on the dt Swiss hub. I’m running it at 20 degrees and it noticeably calms the pedals down through the chunky stuff.

EDIT: Wanted to add that they shipped the chain with the wrong number of links. It took me a while to figure out why the chain was rubbing the derailleur. Luckily I figured it out before my first ride. It shipped with 118 links and SRAM specifies 116 links. Once I removed the extra links the chain stopped rubbing the derailleur in the smallest gear.

They also shipped my bike with a women's saddle. I let them know and they are sending out a replacement.

Choosing the correct spring rate

Hey guys and girls, i recently got a tyee 6.1. which i really enjoy. The only problem is that my bomber cr spring is a bit too stiff. I weigh between 75 and 80kg (165/175lbs). Now i would really appreciate it if somebody of the same weight could tell me their spring stiffness so i can get a reference and don't end up with 4 different springs.

Thanks in advance!

NBD: Spindrift Park AL

Got my first DH bike and this thing is a beast. I was previously riding a stumpjumper (cracked the frame a few weeks ago) and this thing just eats tech and chunk like nothing I’ve ever ridden.

Awesome bike, but Propain shipped it with a bone dry bearing in the headset and it sounded like it was going to explode at Trestle lol. Had to pay $40 for a new one to be installed less than a week after getting it. Not a great look, but not a dealbreaker by any means.

Is this gap on the upper Damper mount normal?

Hey,

I'm a proud owner of a new Propain Spindrift AL Frameset. I've ridden Carbon Fiber Bikes before and now I have a Question concerning a gap I just found on the inner Part of the upper damper mount.

I'm not sure if this might be a problem or if this is normal. The weld, where the forces are applied is on the outside of the mount, but still the gap is different on both sides of the mount.

Maybe someone can compare to their own frame and help me out.

Thanks a lot.

Have a great week and keep shredding.

Friend's bike stolen (Propain Spindrift) on Trans Savoie trip. Then found. Missing bolt and flip chip. Need help!

Hey fellow riders. My friends are in France on their bucket list honeymoon trip doing the Trans-Savoie and on the night of day #2 of the trip they locked up their bikes in a recommended bike cage at the hotel. That night their bikes were stolen by thieves in ski masks and goggles. The bikes were later found but one of them (the smaller Propain Spindrift) had been in the process of being disassembled while the thieves were looking for air tags. The pivot bolt and the flip chip were lost in the mayhem. Now that bike is unrideable and they have another week of the tour to complete plus time in Finale Ligure to ride more trails there.

They've called Propain to see about another bolt and chip but there's no answer. Since these are likely proprietary parts its going to be tough to get a replacement but they are looking for a unicorn here so that they can salvage the trip and not have to rent a bike for two weeks.

Does anyone have a connection, a brilliant idea, or a spare part somewhere in the area of Bourg-Saint-Maurice, France that can come to their rescue? They don't have an account so I'm posting for them to try to help out. I went through the same debacle a few years ago during a race and luckily found someone with a spare shock bolt to help me out. Please message me if you have any ideas and I'll make sure that the connection is made. Thank you in advance!!!

Ekano 3 friends, how are we all coping with the weight of this beast?

Just got my Ekano 3, first off, wow what a machine. It eats climbs, it is just mind boggling.
I am upgrading from a canyon trail bike with a 140mm fork and 130 out the back. And going from fox to rockshox is a whole other thing.
But when going downhill, the weight of the bike is unreal, really struggling moving it about comfortably. And when it comes to drops, forget it. Nose dive each time. Thankfully no mishaps, or OTB. But it has been so dry recently cant say it is mud on my trousers.
And this is all on trails where i wouldnt have any issues with the analog bike.
Anyone else experiencing this? Or do i just need to have an extra helping of “just man the f*ck up” for breakfast? 🤣

*** update
Went back and set up both fork and shock from scratch over the weekend and wow! What a difference. Bike feels incredibly good now. Bike running very similar to my old analogue one.
Had to speed up the rebound in the fork and slow the shock down. Also added some more air to the shock, and think it needs a tad more but night and day difference

Size Help Propain Tyee Al Trail

Hey guys,

I did some research, but I couldn't find a satisfactory answer. I'm 181 cm tall with an 81 cm inseam. I'm not sure whether to go for a size L or M, but I'd like a mullet setup because of my short legs.

Would love to get some help. Thanks a lot!
