Hello! I’m a mozambican citizen, fluent in both Portuguese and English language, looking for someone to teach me how to speak, write and understand the Dutch language (my boyfriend is Dutch but we are doing LDR for now, hoping to change that i’d have to learn his language.

I am looking for someone who also speaks portuguese, but if not, english wouldn’t be a problem whatsoever. I’d also be happy to teach the portuguese language as well

I am a Mozambican citizen 🇲🇿 (born and living) and my boyfriend is a Dutch citizen 🇳🇱 (born in the Netherlands but currently living in Belgium). We have known each other for nearly 5 years but got into a committed long-distance relationship one and a half years ago.

We first met each other in 2022, then took a break from each other in 2023 and patched things up in 2024. February+March 2025 I went to see him in Belgium, met his family and friends. Then we travelled together in June the same year. from November 2025 - January 2026 I was with him in Belgium, where again I had the chance to see his family, friends, and spend the holidays with all of them. In May+June he came to my country and met my whole family and friends. It was beyond lovely!

As you all can imagine, this takes a toll on us everyday. The videocalls and texting help to some extent but physical touch, sharing our routines and all is fundamental and so important. We have decided that we want to move in together as in I move out of Mozambique and join him in Belgium.

We are going to start studying our options but I must admit I am not as hopeful as one would be - he is a lot more. I’m concerned about the right route to follow, the procedures, and a potential rejection. What would you advise? What would our chances of success be? We can’t wait any longer, we are more than ready to do what it takes to make this work for us, and for that to happen we need to close the distance gap between us.
