Sub-20L EV vs Suzuki Victoris Strong Hybrid vs stretching budget 2 to 3L max for more expensive EVs? (25k km/year, 60:40 Highway/City)
I need some serious advice from current owners or anyone who has extensively test-driven the newest options.
This will be the only car in my garage, so it has to handle everything effortlessly. My annual running is very high, around 25,000 km per year with a 60 percent highway and 40 percent city split. Because I am spending so much time on the road, I have a very specific checklist of requirements:
- Saftey: Absolute 5-star structural safety net.
- Real-World Range: A strict minimum of 350 km to 400 km if I go full electric.
- The Basics: I just want a 360 camera, a clean feel-good interior, and solid features done right like LED headlamps, rear AC vents, and a comfortable suspension for a smooth ride.
I have narrowed down my options, but I am facing a big structural choice: The Maruti Suzuki Victoris Strong Hybrid fits perfectly within my 20 Lakh budget. Should I stick to that hybrid, choose one of the sub-20L EVs, or increase my budget by 2 to 3 Lakhs max to step up to a more expensive, premium long-range EV?
Here are my specific questions for the group:
- Tata Curvv EV (Acomplished X 55) vs Nexon EV 45
Bigger Space and Battery for 1 to 1.5 Lakh more: For roughly 1 to 1.5 Lakh more, stepping up from the Nexon Empowered 45 to the Curvv Accomplished X 55 gets you a larger 55 kWh battery and a bigger car profile with more boot space. Is stretching for that extra battery cushion and vehicle size worth the price difference for a sole daily driver?
• Visibility and Camera: How bad is the rear windshield blind spot on the Curvv due to the coupe roofline? Does the 360 camera completely solve it for quick highway lane changes and tight parking?
• Ride Comfort: Between the Nexon 45 and the Curvv 55, which suspension is better at absorbing high-speed highway expansions and bad city roads to keep a family comfortable?
- Mahindra BE 6 (Pack One - 59 kWh)
• The born-EV platform with a 228 BHP Rear-Wheel Drive setup sounds like an absolute blast to drive and easily checks the safety and range boxes.
• However, the base Pack One strips out a lot of cabin plushness and lacks a lot of features. Also, is the suspension tuned too stiffly for a comfortable daily commute?
- Stick with the Victoris Strong Hybrid or stretch 2 to 3L max for a more expensive EV?
• The Maruti Suzuki Victoris Strong Hybrid falls comfortably under 20 Lakhs and offers complete peace of mind as a sole car with zero charging stops on my 60 percent highway runs. But will the fuel bill over 25,000 km make me regret not going electric?
• Alternatively, should I increase my budget by 2 to 3 Lakhs max to unlock the higher-end, longer-range EV variants? Since this is my only car, does stretching for a more expensive EV offer a massive real-world advantage over the under-20L ev/hybrid for high-mileage users?
Would love to hear your thoughts on which direction makes the most sense for a heavy, comfort-focused annual run.
Cant increase the size of car too much due to garage problem.
And does anyone about discounts on the following cars - curvv ev series x, nexon empowered 45, evitara (how is it) and mahindra born ev. Not considering 3xo ev and 400 ev due to nmc battery
Thanks in advance!
