VO2 Max

VO2 Max

How important is VO2 max? I’ve been running and following a plan for the past 8 weeks. I’ve been religious in running and keeping up with active recovery on days off. I started hearing about VO2 max on some of these subreddits so figured might be something I need to focus on. I know people say not to stress VO2 or Z2 running as a beginner runner and focus is more on consistency so I have been just keeping an eye on it.

I noticed it takes me forever to increase my VO2 max by even decimals but it will drop very easily. I included a pic from my Apple Health App. I have an AW11 to track it

Is this normally like this? How do I get this to an “average” rating without it dropping so suddenly

Plot Holes Galore

Is it me or did they just forget massive parts of the previous seasons and dont discuss them at all

- what happened to the Corner Spa? who is running it? is it still there?

- why do they act like Bill Townsend never existed. They got those kids calling Cal "Dad" and his mom "Grandma" but never actually acknowledge Bill anymore. Its like he died and then they just move right on to other things and replaced him with Cal.

- How lucrative is an e-bike tour business in a small town? It feels like there is only one damn stoplight in this place to begin with.

Back into Running. Keep Comparing with my past

Some Backgroud: 33YO Male, 155 lbs and 5’10.
I’ve never been a big sports or exercise Person. Right before the pandemic in 2020 I started taking control of my fitness, joined a gym started exercising and running. I was doing so well where I was able to do a 5K in just over 30 minutes

As soon as the pandemic got bigger and we went into lockdown I lost all motivation and drive. I tried keeping up with fitness overall playing sports etc but never got back to what I was before

I found my second wind at the beginning of May and have joined Runnas Return to Running Plan to get back into it. I bought new running shoes and have been consistent in my activities as well as cross training and playing sports. I don’t want to have any races or strict goals in place until I’m feeling like I’m more confident like I once was. I did a 5K before I got serious again and my pace was 8.05 and took me like 41mins

My issue is I am finding it hard to get back to where I used to be. I’m following my plan but I’m at like a 7.30ish pace per KM. I’m trying to stick to the plan, block out all the social media comparisons and tips as a beginner runner and trust the process but I don’t know if I am progressing enough to get back to where I was and it’s kinda demotivating. How do I know if this is working and how can I get back to where I was without rushing or hurting myself
