2 very short layovers- do I panic?
okay so one of my best friends moved to Florida about a year ago, and she has been SO kind as to fly me out to see her out of her own pocket😭 she went ahead and booked the flights for me based on the dates/times I told her worked for me and I am genuinely so grateful to have a friend who would do that for me.
HOWEVER, upon reading the itineraries, i’ve grown a bit (extremely) anxious. my flight out there is from STL, Southwest Airlines scheduled to land in Orlando (MCO) at 8:15 pm. then, I am sat to get on a connecting flight to Fort Lauderdale that departs at 8:50… 35 minutes. is this doable? I am a little less worried about this flight because it’s a couple hours from where my friend lives, but not so catastrophically far away that i’d be stranded entirely.
HOWEVER, AGAIN, my flight home (American Airlines) departs from Fort Lauderdale and lands in CHARLOTTE (CLT) at 5:20, only for my connecting flight to depart at 5:58… 38 MINUTES. I am a teacher who plans to go to school the following day, and I cannot be stranded in Charlotte. It’s over 12 hours from where I live. there’s one more flight that night from CLT to STL, but that’s it. and that’s assuming I can even make it onto the very next flight out should I miss my connection.
long story long, I just want to know if I should be panicking, or if this is doable. feel free to share all your thoughts, experiences, and horror stories. it’s not too late to change the flights, though it’ll cost extra. but if it’s necessary for smooth traveling and peace of mind, i’ll do it.
thanks for the help!!
