Brian Lilley Substack: "Conservative civil war rages on while the trade deal takes shape"

Upon reading this, it's obvious Kory Teneycke is trying to instigate this "civil war" to fracture the Canadian Conservative movement

This guy is a loser and deserves to be shunned by us. He won't be so high and mighty once Ford is no longer Premier

National Post: Deal or no deal, Carney Liberals have failed to build Canada

For starters, this is the deal that should've happened a year ago, and it shows that they were all Elbows Up until they realized how damaging that was going to be to Canada

Deal or not, Carney has continued with Turd Eau's tendency towards policies that have put Canada in a weak position. Don't let this agreement fool you about him

Also, there are apparently a good number of people (including a lot of Elbozo diehards) who would want a whole new election should this agreement go through, according to another NatPo article

CTV article claims CPC MPs are "doubting" Poilievre, it's very suspicious

This was exactly what polls like the Nanos one were designed to do, sadly: Sow doubt and ruin morale

This, and the fact that so many Canadian voters seem to like being lied to over hearing what they NEED to be told

Let's hope they can hold tight and get through this to the next election. I think it's still doable

Still, I'm not surprised this was written with the news (and bad optics) of Carney fleeing to Italy for a week and the potential for Canada to be hit with a LOT of high tariffs starting August 19. In addition, this also comes amidst the Shaun Chen news as well as Carney's ally Ford being caught engaging in literal Watergate-tier tactics of spying on the Ontario Liberal leader

Have you met any Canadian politicians?

I was wondering which ones you guys have met and how those interactions went. I believe the criteria is past and present Prime Ministers, Premiers, MPs, MPPs/MLAs, Senators, and mayors of major cities. You can also mention candidates who tried to run for these roles

I've met Adam Chambers, Jill Dunlop, Patrick Brown, Bruce Dunlop, David Tilson (my family was good friends with his family), Maxime Bernier at a meet-and-greet in 2017, and Pierre Poilievre at a rally in 2022. MPP Sol Mamakwa also once spoke at my former university

Thankfully, all of these were good interactions

Regarding that Nanos polling (The one smug Liberals are waving around like it's gospel truth)

So, this Nanos poll had a sampling size of 1,034 people. Okay, that's normal. What's not normal (but not surprising with the result) is the breakdown by age:

- 18-29: 111

- 30-39: 81

- 40-49: 95

- 50-59: 176

...

- 60+ was 574 sampled!

It's an obvious outlier meant to create a predetermined result, meant to provide cover for Carney after he's been caught lying about the Gordie Howe Bridge deal along with general broken promises and a perceived lack of action on Canada's real issues

CDNpolling: LPC at 46% (-4) and CPC at 43% (+8) among 55 and over voters

If that's the case, then perhaps more of them realize Elbows Up was a sham, and that the economy isn't just "doing well" because some legacy media reporter lying through his teeth says muh geedeepee has gone up a bit

Toronto Sun: Mark Carney's Liberals back away from Billy Bishop Airport expansion, putting politics ahead of growth

Bad case of the feds flip flopping. They privately supported the expansion of Billy Bishop until enough people from ridings of theirs complained. It was about politics

And it means the traitor Ford just got double crossed by his overlords

If the Liberal government caves to not allow Billy Bishop to expand, then you can forget anything to do with pipelines or natural resources. So much for "Building at speeds unseen in generations"

Western Standard: The modern witch hunt for "The Conservative" in Canada

There's been an undercurrent of this going back to PET, though it's notably ramped up under the gruesome twosome (Turd Eau Jr and Carnage)

Even though these people have gotten literally everything they could want from this government, it's apparently not enough as long as their opponents still exist

National Post: Canadian voters are aging out of mainstream conservatism

This article says that a big part why so much of the 60+ crowd now votes Liberal is because as they age, dependency on state benefits grows and things like "low taxes," "less government," and "entrepreneurship" matter less. It's something we'll have to think about

National Post: Mark Carney finally delivers, uh, Eurovision?

It seems as though Canada becoming eligible to participate in Eurovision has a political component to it

It also seems to be coming from the top-down. Literally no one I know follows Eurovision, most don't even know what it is at all

The article is also right that while Trump has been difficult to deal with, Carney and certain other Canadian politicians are equally responsible for the current situation Canada is in. With this, it feels as if the Canadian government is promoting the whole "Canada is akchually le European" line as an Elbows Up type distraction from long-standing domestic issues

Toronto Star: It's Time Canada Cut Diplomatic Ties With Israel

These same people want to open embassies in Iran (despite their literal sleeper cells operating here) and Venezuela (who's government was involved with Tren de Aragua gangs, some of which operate in Canada) and strengthen ties with China (despite recent tariffs against us), but Israel defending itself from rocket attacks is apparently "too far"

Bunch of 🍑🤡's

CityNews: "Canada has no plans to open embassies in Iran or Venezuela" says Anand

So, there's two conflicting messages here. Carney says he wants to reopen Canadian embassies in Iran and Venezuela to "respond better to humanitarian crises" while his Foreign Minister Anita Anand says that's not what's happening

Confusion and mixed messaging aside, there's also the fact that the purpose of embassies and other consolates and diplomatic missions is NOT to provide "humanitarian aid" to other countries but rather services to their own citizens who are in that country

Also doesn't help that Iran and Venezuela are long-time foes of the United States, and so it seems like another attempt by Carney to sabotage Ottawa's relations with Washington

Forbes: What Canada's euthanasia surge reveals about single-payer healthcare

It's not hard to see why Canada is pushing MAID to such an absurd level, even blowing past established safeguards in the process. When you have a healthcare system that is essentially frozen in the 1960s, under tremendous fiscal and population pressures, and which the government refuses to reform in any other way, you can see why they would seek to use MAID as a tool to relieve that burden they largely brought on themselves through poor policy decisions over the years

National Post: The Carney Paradox — as Canada swirls down the drain, his popularity goes through the roof

Polling: Be VERY wary of it

As someone who knows the ins and outs of polling, there are outliers and then there's this. Just a remimder to be careful about polls like this and to be aware of their hidden biases and variables that can skew them

Realistically, Carney's approval vs disapproval would be close to 50-50, give or take some. There's just no way it's this high
