[Collection] My small Collection
I’ve been interested in watches ever since I was a little boy. I’m not exactly sure where this fascination comes from. I think it’s the combination of an accessory, something useful, and something valuable and well-crafted all in one that I love about watches.
For my 12th birthday, I asked for my first stainless-steel watch. It was a Tommy Hilfiger fashion watch, and I was incredibly proud of it. I don’t think I’ve ever been as excited about a watch as I was about that one.
Unfortunately, after years of wearing it, I lost it at our local swimming Pool. Today, it would have an enormous sentimental value to me.
Over the following 18 years, my interest in watches continued to grow, and today I have this small and rather modest collection.
The two Seiko Tank watches belong to both me and my girlfriend. I bought them for us for our 5th anniversary.
The Doxa is a very old model from the 1960s that I simply couldn’t walk past when I found it at a flea market. I love the size and the Patina it has and also the fact that it is so old and still is running!
The Rolex Datejust had been an unreachable dream of mine ever since I watched The Sopranos as a teenager. I Fell in love with Tony Sopranos Day-Date and got into the Brand Rolex. After Research I discovered the Datejust Two-Tone Model and It was a watch that never really left my mind.
At the age of 26, I was finally able to make that dream come true.
When the Tissot PRX was released, I was blown away by its value for money, design, and the Powermatic 80 movement. I bought it as my everyday watch for work.
The Venezianico Nereide is my newest addition. I fell in love with the mother-of-pearl dial and its slim case profile, and I really wanted to add a dive watch to my collection.
The pocket watch belonged to my great-grandfather, and my grandparents gave it to me for my 30th birthday. It is a piece I will always treasure and cherish. I was incredibly happy to receive it, especially because it has been in our family for more than 100 years. Knowing that I’m now the one carrying on its story makes it even more special to me.
It may not be a large or particularly impressive collection, but every watch has its own story — and that’s what makes them special to me.
