Just started the fruiting process, looking for some insight

Context: I'm in the midst of my first grow, I've got four strains going and I staggered their starts over about two weeks. Strains are, in order of inoculation/S2B points: golden teacher, jack frost, mazatapec, and albino bluey vuitton. With this first run I wanted to try multiple strains mostly to see what inoculation->harvest time variance there would be, as well as final yields, to determine which would be the most fun to keep growing/learn to clone.

I'm using 12qt tubs w/o filter patches for most containers(using the lid-crack tek for this first round), and have a few smaller containers due to a couple of miscalculations on my spawn/sub cooks. 100% coir sub, and did a 1:1.5ish ratio of rye spawn to coir. I used a temp controller on a lil heater for incubation/colonization and kept it between 74-78f. Spawn and S2B incubation/colonization has gone great for all strains with no contam and a faster colonization than I expected.

I went camping for a couple of days last week, and came back expecting the golden teacher containers to be about ready to introduce FAE; two of the GT containers were beginning to fruit in their closed containers, only 12 days after S2B! Seemed like pretty thick stipes and like they wanted some air, so I flipped the lids and cracked them ~1/4 inch. Inspected all of the other containers, and they had about 50-75% of their casing layers colonized, so I ended up flipping and cracking the lids on all of them.

I'm very happy with how everything is going so far, and just curious if anyone has insights/advice about the fruiting stage outside of/beyond u/shroomscout 's awesome guide. In particular:

  1. what would you do if an early pin-set leads to some guys smacking their heads on the lid before breaking their veils, whilst a bunch of lil friends that also still have closed veils are developing?

  2. did I make the right move by cracking the lids when I did?

  3. any notes on humidity levels?

  4. I plan on building a tent situation around the rack for the fruiting subs, and am wanting to figure out a cheapish solution for automating humidity and air exchange- any recommendations on misting systems/humidistats/non-intrusive-or-loud-as-fuck fan setups?

Thanks to all that took the time to read this- I've enjoyed myself and learned a ton just observing this community, and am happy to be at a point where I feel fuzzy about being able to contribute to it. I'm having a fucking blast!

Thanks u/shroomscout !!!
