Beauty and Death

I was struck by the beauty of this scene in my rewatch today. The Roci with her streams of PDC rounds stretching out into the black, the bright blooms of the exploding missiles. Like a deep sea squid swatting bioluminescent jellyfish.

Deadly, thermonuclear jellyfish. The battles in this series are so fast, and tense, and final. They are less like fights than they are chess games - the indifferent inevitability of physics and math.

I love this series so much.

“No one really saves anyone. She taught me how to save myself.”

Amos, S5E2 Churn

This one hit me hard on a rewatch. You have those people in your life that change you, and it’s not necessarily something they do to you, it’s something they show you. Something you learn by being near them, with them.

Amos in general is my favorite right now, particularly his relationship with Avasarala. Every quote about them is gold.
