Can you find the woodpecker?
I was hiking at Killarney Lake this morning. There were several woodpeckers in the area. Unfortunately I missed all of the action shots and finally ended up with this one above. It's hard to even spot him hahaha.

I think my best watercolor painting so far. I have been criticized for not using enough water so that it looks like gouache.
What do you think?
I long for the days when language meant what it meant. When a 3-month contract meant a 3-month contract.
My gym shut down for a while, and I joined club Pilates on a 3-month contract in order to continue my fitness program. Approximately a month before the end of the contract, I mentioned that this was my last month. I was told no ...this is not true. Club Pilates automatically rolls you over into another 3-month program..
I explained that my regular gym was available again, and I did not need this program anymore. Club Pilates informed me that I had to give them 30 days notice to end my 3 month contract. It's in the fine print. Before joining I have attended an introductory meeting that explains the various options. In that session, I did not hear anything about needing to give a 30-day notice to end the contract.
I was giving them 28 days notice at this point. I asked them to reconsider the 30 days and to allow me to evade the automatic rollover. I was told the rules are rules and no this could not happen. Consequently I've had to pay for 30 days of club Pilates classes.
Guys, I am 78 years old. I am not rich. I'm on the restricted pension. Up till I was in my fifties language meant what it meant. There was no corporate wizardry, no financial wizardry. Then corporation started to take over gyms's. Now it's all corporate speak, contracts, fine print.
I know there's nothing I can do. The money is gone. I had plans for that money.
I just wish that corporations allowed their employees a little more leeway. Club Pilates is a multi-national corporation with hundreds of outlets throughout the US and canada. I needed the employee applying the rules to be a little more understanding. To have empathy.
OK. That's it.
