Do I need to be present for this return?
I was shopping with my MIL and bought a Mother's Day present for my mom while we were there. At the checkout, my MIL card kept getting declined, so I paid for the whole cart and she settled up with me later.
Now, the gift I bought my mom was a duplicate to one she'd already gotten from my sister, so I'd like to return it. I just need to know who needs to be there, because:
- MIL scanned her membership before checkout -- mine was never scanned.
- MIL debit card was declined, so we paid with mine instead.
If I'd purchased under my account, I know there'd be no issue. My account, my debit card. But, since it was bought on my card but under her account, do we both need to be there for the return? She has offered to do the return herself since it's her membership. Just not sure it'll work out without my debit card?
Thanks. I know this is probably dumb. I've never had to return anything here before, and I just want to be able to do it in one go.
