Exposing a massive ₹15 Lakh "Remote Control" Engineering Exam/Admission Scam running right now in Maharashtra MHTCET
I wanted to share a shocking conversation I recently had with an admission counselor to warn parents and student aspirants about a massive scam currently running for engineering admissions in Maharashtra.
The Background:
I personally know a well-established counselor who has a very good track record. He has guided numerous NEET and engineering students under him in the past, and he even helped us with a medical college admission previously. Because we knew him, he contacted me earlier this month (May) regarding my son’s counseling for the engineering stream.
The Offer:
During the call, he casually asked me if I was willing to pay ₹15 Lakhs. In exchange, he claimed he could completely guarantee my son a secured admission into one of the Top 5 engineering colleges in Maharashtra.
How the Scam Actually Works (In his own words):
I was shocked and asked him how on earth he could guarantee that. He then openly explained the entire fraudulent operation to me, and it's incredibly
sophisticated:
Rigging the Exam Centers: During the registration/form-filling process, these scammers instruct the parents/students to select a very specific city exam center. They have successfully compromised and "rigidly controlled" 2 or 3 particular exam centers in that specific area.
Remote Access Hacking: On the day of the exam, the student literally just has to go to the center and sit in front of the computer.
The 3-Hour Show: Their representatives use remote-desktop software to gain control of the student's exam system from an outside location. The representative will fill out the entire question paper and input all the correct answers themselves. The student doesn't have to solve a single question; they just have to sit there, pretend to take the test, and watch the screen for 3 hours.
This is a highly organized, tech-driven racket. It completely broke my heart to hear how easily hard work is being bypassed for money.
If any counselor or agent approaches you with a similar offer to select specific centers or promises "management/remote assistance" shortcuts for an absurd amount of money, please do not fall for it. They are manipulating the system, risking your child's future, and ruining the chances of deserving students who study day and night.
Stay vigilant, and let's spread the word so the authorities look into these rigged local exam centers.
