L'extension vers Bussigny devrait arriver vers 2031-2032.

The two first trams of the new Lausanne Tramway were unveiled to the public some days ago. I was able to take some picture of these beautiful trams! (I didn't shoot the inside as there were too many people.)

Ten trams have been ordered from Stadler Rail by Lausanne's public transport operator, TL, for use on the new tram line that will mark the return of tramways in Lausanne after 60 years.

Line 5 is expected to open in December 2026. It will connect Lausanne's center to Renens station. Trams will run every 5-7 minutes along the 4.5km line serving 10 stations.
An expansion is already being planned further west.

The 45-meter-long trams are being built by Stadler Rail in Valencia, Spain. They are the only trams in Switzerland to run on standard gauge as other run on metric gauge.

If everything goes to plan, an additional five trams will be ordered for the extension.
