I have a 1986 VFR700 engine (the one with 2 vr sensors) without a CDI, I'm looking to make my own as a sort of university/personal project just for a bit of learning. (maybe open source it if it works and is reliable)

I noticed the variable reluctance sensors aren't super reliable on these bikes, they fail with heat sometimes and and I want to see if I can avoid having to buy vr conditioner chips by converting them to hall effect.

Has anyone done or seen something similar? I'd imagine where the pickups trigger might be slightly different between hall effect and VR.
