Still spotting 4 weeks post op?

I had light spotting the first week and a half, then it stopped for almost another week and a half, then I got a cough, it came back, I have no cough anymore, spotting didn’t stop.

I have my post op appt tomorrow so I will get to talk about it, but wanna know if it’s common around now so I know how much away from common that I am going into the appointment or if it usually requires intervention. It’s light but bright red blood when I wipe but not really on clothing.

Still have deep pelvic pain but it’s not that bad.

Hopefully my inability/refusal to get an internal exam doesn’t scree me over too badly.

Bad cough 3 weeks post op. Cough causing pain and spotting.,Don’t wanna go to the ER. Any support?

I got a cold but I was born very very premature (3 months early) so I’m already prone to excessive coughing from a common cold. I have done everything I can do (humidifier, honey, cough meds otc, benzonatate/tessalon, afrin, cough drops, prop up, inhaler, everything.

Normally it sucks ass but I can deal with it (barely)

But now im 3 weeks post op and history of pelvic floor spasms is making coughing cause really bad pain. In all the muscles of my torso, my insides of all my pelvis and my cuff area hurts a lot.
I’m probably objectively fine bc this coughing has only caused some minor spotting but Jesus I can’t get a break and I can’t stop coughing and crying. I’m coughing so much and it hurts enough that instead of just pain and being sad I’m getting progressively more really angry like I want to punch something 😭😭😭😭

Idk even if nobody can do anything can someone at least tell me I’m not alone 😭?

Is there anyone after shots or gel swap to pellets? How was it? Dose?

I’m thinking of trying pellets after 4.5 years of shots. My adult clinic offers it but my adolescent clinic didn’t so I’d like to try it.
I’m otherwise happy with injections BUT I’m allergic to the carrier oils of both cypionate and enanthate and am sick of the weekly itchy red bump.

I just dealt with it because I was scared swapping types would make my levels too low for a while and I couldn’t risk breakthrough bleeding. Recently had hysterectomy and both ovaries out, so I’m more open to trying pellets when breakthrough bleeding is quite literally impossible.

Gel is not for me and I don’t want to try it. the daily, the much chance of too low or too high of absorption, my not wanting an alcohol based product on my skin daily bc it gets really dry without gel, and previously not absorbing other topical medications very well doesn’t seem like a good idea to try for me.

Anyone share experiences of pellets? How often you had to get them replaced? how your levels are? How much does the insertion of the pellets hurt?

How long until you got back to the bong?

Weed, especially flower/bud indica helps my pelvic floor spasms so much and I’m day 12 post op. My surgeon didn’t have a date as to when I can again. She said there’s not really much data and to avoid coughing from it for 6 weeks. When did you do it again? I miss my bong lol. I just don’t rlly like edibles idk

I can just take smaller hits and if I accidentally take a bigger one I sorta can just chose to not cough, like I have to focus on it, but I can overpower my cough reflex until it goes away enough that I don’t cough. Idk when did you guys go back to it?

Traumatic hospital experience and mental wellbeing.

I had some complications and a really bad experience with that. Not that I was mistreated, but just what happened while still at the hospital is messing with me. I had posted about it on the hysterectomy sub a few days ago if someone wants to read the whole thing, if not the most basic summary is a LOT of blood and worst pain I’ve felt in my life . I think my posts are visible if you click my profile

. I feel embarrassed to feel traumatized from just that, because my mom was there for most of it and I acted composed and also instead of fight or flight type thing I just completely froze I felt paralyzed like I couldn’t react. so I acted fine while at the hospital, but once off of strong pain meds it’s all I can think about and I breakdown.

my psychiatrist thinks I have something like acute stress disorder (kinda like ptsd but acute/shorter term) it’s infiltrating my dreams, I don’t feel relaxed, I feel like infested with thinking about it, I am not really leaving my room much because I feel less stressed when I’m by myself. Like a turtle who feels safer in my shell. I also hide things from my family so it’s really hard to be around people and mask my emotions and act fine.I feel like I’m vibrating from my core but I’m just shaking. I’m crying multiple times a day. She’s literally giving me some medication for it that can get it out of my dreams and make me not so jumpy and on edge.

I think it feels worse for hormonal reasons (ovaries out and was on high dose progestin medication to stop period, and abruptly stopped it.) despite being on testosterone long term, they still probably were not 100% inactive. That’s also making me dysphoric because being emotionally sensitive due to hormonal reasons feels like such a feminine thing for me to be experiencing but then I keep crying and it’s a bad loop. I just don’t know what to do with myself anymore

No appetite/ food aversion/ struggling to eat 1 week post op?

I’m one week post op robotic full hysto, everything cervix and up out, both ovaries gone.

I’m off of prescription pain meds and am in only mild pain but my apetite is so horrible. I’ve barely been eating. I know decent chunk of that of it is temporary water weight that will come back when i eventually eat more but I have lost 11lbs. It’s not even that I’m just not hungry, food activity sounds gross. This is far from my normal I usually am a big foodie and have to put effort in to not eating too much. Now I’m trying so hard just to barely eat. I extra need food not just for normal healing but because things didn’t go so well and I had a lot of blood loss, luckily not enough that I needed any kind of transfusion, but I’m lucky that my baseline iron and red blood cells were on the high end of male range pre op which is higher than female range (trans man on testosterone explains that so I could lose a moderate amount more blood without becoming too anemic)

Anyways so I know my body needs more energy to replace that.
I’m sleeping so much too which I know id have more energy if I could get myself to eat. I just feel like I can’t. Part of it might be that the whole complications were kinda traumatic. I posted the other day about it bc I just can’t get it off my mind.

Anyone else ? Starting to feel like this is past the normal early post op low appetite bc I’m off pain meds…

What so you do when horny post op but nowhere near healed enough?

5 days post op. Still on a lot of pain, still on oxy, but my body seems to not care and decides to be horny. It’s too soon for even external stimulation only and my mind doesn’t want it but my body is like “hellllo!!?? It’s been FIVE days” last time I did 5 days was probably years ago I have a rlly high sex drive 😭. I can’t be the only one with this problem. What to do to get rid of it? How long before your did external stimulation only because 6 weeks is extremly unrealistic for me but I also don’t wanna like hurt myself.

Has anyone else had a vaginal laceration from a laparoscopic hysterectomy?

Hi so this situation is a little unique as I am a trans male and only 19. I don’t really like to use the word “vagina” for my body because I’m not too pleased with its existence, so for all intended purposes when I say “the canal” that is what I’m referring to.

Err tw- complications and blood?

definitely have pretty bad atrophy due to testosterone therapy for 4.5 years, and I know atrophy of the canal is very common in post menopausal women so I figured I’d post here and see if anyone else had has something similar. Post op in the PACU thought things were good… or so I thought, passed the void trial, was too out of it to notice how much I was bleeding and was told moderate bleeding was normal and I was like “ok whatever” when they went to send me home, I changed my clothes and they were about to wheel me to my moms car, which she went and has pre turned on the AC bc it was hot out, and before leaving i requested to pee. When I did, I felt huge clots come out of me it felt disgusting and there was blood EVERYWHERE. It leaked through the pad onto the wheelchair. It ended up all over my thighs, butt, entire genital area, dripped down the sides of the toilet and the front of the toilet and some onto the floor.

That didn’t seem very normal so I pulled the call string in the bathroom and a male nurse who wasn’t my nurse/ on my nurses team and he rushed in and I was like “is this normal?” and he’s like “uhhhh I really don’t know but I’m pretty sure it’s not” and then he got my nurse and I stood up and there was an active trickle coming out of me. I soaked through their pads in under 10 minutes. They were like uhhh yeah maybe don’t go home yet, so I had to call my mom to come back.

The surgeon was already in her second case of the day so the resident came and saw me and she was like “oh” and went and talked to the dr. They saw me near gushing and decided to pack the wound with gauze. Let me tell you, that was by far THE WORST most painful part of my entire recovery I was shaking badly and thought I was gonna puke . worse than coughing/sneezing exponentially . The packing was done over one of those absorbent rectangle pads that look like the puppy pee pads, and when talking to the dr again telling them they couldn’t even get the packing all the way in because it hurt so bad. And when I got up to pee again after 15 ish minutes, the puppy pad thing surface area was well over half saturated with blood, and after I made their bathroom look like another murder scene I gave up on their pads and asked for an adult diaper which they gave and lined with a pad.

They took me back to the OR and had to cauterize it. The bleeding was not the cuff. It was a 1-2 cm laceration on the posterior introitus( back end of the opening), its location explained how painful the packing was. Every time they moved the packing further in, it was scraping directly over the laceration and that’s why it hurt so bad. The resident said if she was me she would have been kicking and screaming.

After that bleeding was minimal but pain was so bad. It was worse than kidney pain. I had to call them the next day for higher dose pain meds because I couldn’t move without excessive profanity but for some reason they didn’t have an on call or after hours number and it took 8 office hours to get ahold of them.
After that everything settled down, but that was rather… traumatic to say the least. I figure the laceration was either a tear or a scrape from a tool when they were taking the uterus out, and due to the atrophy the tissue was weaker. I’m so grateful that being on testosterone has made my iron and red blood percentage high, because if not I probably would have been very anemic from the blood loss. Luckily I had some buffer and with fluids it was ok.

It kind of feels like fever dream and also wondered why they didn’t keep me overnight. ( this is a well known surgeon at one of the top hospitals) so this was… interesting.

Anyways even if nobody relates I want to get this out somewhere bc even tho I’m 5 days post op I can’t stop thinking about it

Edit: also I gave up on my bed and my family members dragged a recliner to my room and I’ve been sleeping in that

How to make horny go away early post op when it’s far too soon to safely masturbate ?

Maybe tw? Blood discussion? ( i genuinely don’t know if talking about blood needs a trigger warning for people bc im so not sqeamish i forget the average person is less comfortable with blood than I am?)

It’s day four post Op almost, everything cervix and up remove and am physically very aroused despite being still weak and unwell, and Despite complication same day with what ended up being a 2cm laceration in the canal and over the v opening and lowkey lost a lot of blood and had to have a second surgery, am on 10mg of oxy rn, and in pain, barely have eaten but I guess my sex drive doesn’t care that I’m wiped out and all my libido knows I’m that I’m 19 with moderate-high testosterone levels.

Obviously a bad idea to do anything yet, especially with higher chance of re bleeding and pain at the spot they had to cauterize. If there was bleeding again anywhere near the same amount as initially would prob make me anemic there kinda was a LOT of blood after leaking through pads in under 10-15 minutes I eventually asked for an adult diaper while waiting for re operation bc the pads were clearly not anywhere near enough. If people want more details I can certainly comment or answer questions but long story short basically a lot of blood everywhere and on everything.

I know I need to try and not push it too soon. Dr said 6 weeks for even external stuff, but there’s no way I’m making 6 weeks. On the other side 4 days is definitely FAR too early for me and I need to hold out longer.

How did you cope with it when you can’t like exercise or really do anything physical to divert blood flow elsewhere?

My swollen beer belly makes me feel so masculine

Lmao so my surgery was on Monday, and I’m already pretty chunky, and my fat distribution is a bit more androgynous, and having my belly look bigger in relation to my hips and thighs looks and feels like a more typical male fat distribution even tho it’s just short term swelling lol. If feels strangely manly to feel like I look like I’m built like someone’s dad who drank a 6 pack a day for 2 decades and I’m not even 2 decades old lmao.

Also had a lot of bleeding post op so they operated me twice same day. the second to cauterize, so anyways that made my pain worse therefore need for more pain meds so I’m a little very doped up on the pain meds when I typed this my bad chat

Any other fat/bigger guys get surgery? How’d it go?

I’m 19 and my surgery is Monday, full robotic hysterectomy, both ovaries out, but I’m definitely fat. After a year of college and some other health thingies I gained like 20lbs after already being chubby , so I’m like 5’4 and like 225 wide frame so I’d say I’m around medium fat. Not gigantic but definitely far from thin and am not in great shape I need to get back to gym after recovery. Did anyone else who was bigger get it and did it seem to have any impact on your recovery ?

How long after surgery did you start smoking weed again if you are a regular user?

I’m not consuming weed by lungs for 2 weeks before surgery date, but no restriction on edibles. I have no idea how long after surgery until I can maybe smoke again (usually bong if that changes anything). I know people here can’t give me medical advice, and I’ll ask my dr when I see her day of surgery, which is the next time I see her, but I want to know what your doctors told you so I can have a general idea of how many edibles to buy before hand lol (legal where I am)

How long did you need to use a pad post op? How heavy of bleeding?

I’m getting my hysterectomy in a month and was told I’ll need some kind of pad and have bleeding for a bit, but I forgot how long, how long should I anticipate buying a pad for? I’m considering a light male incontinence pad that goes in men’s underwear bc ain’t no way I’m gonna wear woman’s underwear, and I don’t love the idea of using pads marketed as female. But I don’t know how often I’d need to change and for how long, just so i know how big of a pack is reasonable to buy

Guys with really high sex drive, what did you do to keep yourself from masturbating post op?

I’m 19 getting my full hysto everything cervix and up will be gone in about a month, the Longest I’ve gone without an orgasm since I was 10 was like a week, with top surgery I only waited 2 days. typically, after a full day I get horny, after 2 full days I get uncomfortable and can’t sit still.
I was told 6 weeks for any orgasm, and 12 weeks for anything internal. How did you manage? I’m so nervous and worried ima be so uncomfortable and/or have a wet dream at some point.

I take less than a whole vial and use vials more than once and now I have a bunch that will expire soon. Is there any organizations that like takes donations of unopened vial? I feel guilty just tossing medication some people need?

edit becasue I guess it’s not clear enough, I REUSE MY OWN VIALS THESE ARE UNOPENED
