Should I play RE4 Remake as my first survival horror? (Hated TLOU stalker sections)

Hey everyone!

I’ve never played a single horror game in my life, but I’ve been seeing so much praise for Resident Evil 4 Remake lately. The gameplay looks incredible, and the franchise overall seems amazing.

Here’s my situation:

I played The Last of Us Part 1 & 2. I loved the games overall, but I really struggled with the claustrophobic/dark sections (especially the Stalker encounters in TLOU2 and dark basements). I found them way too stressful and honestly didn't enjoy those specific parts at all.
I'm planning to play RE4R on PC with Keyboard + Mouse.

I know RE4 is generally more action-oriented than pure horror, but I'm still worried about hitting a wall if it gets too terrifying or oppressive.
For those who played it:

1 Is RE4R manageable for someone with low horror tolerance?

2 Does it have many "stalker-like" dark/stealth horror sections, or is it mostly intense action where you can just shoot your way out?

3 Would playing on Assisted mode or using manual saves frequently ruin the experience, or is it a good way to enjoy the story and gameplay?

Thanks for your advice!

How can I improve my setup? (Specs & details in post)

Hey everyone!

I'm looking for some suggestions and inspiration to improve my gaming setup. I've attached a picture so you can see what I'm working with right now.

Here are my current specs & details:

  • PC: HP Omen 16 (RTX 5060) — not looking to change this for now as it suits my needs well.
  • Keyboard: Redragon Fizz K617 (mechanical with red switches).
  • Mouse: Comes from the Havit KB852CM combo.
  • Desk: 110x60 cm — the space on the desk is totally fine for me and doesn't bother me at all.

I'd love to get your thoughts on cable management, lighting, wall decor, accessories, or any small tweaks to make the overall look cleaner and more aesthetic.

Thanks in advance for your ideas! 🙌

Looking for an open-world game with a great story and freedom after finishing RDR2

Hi everyone,

I just finished Red Dead Redemption 2 and it was amazing. Now, I don't know what to play next.

I also played God of War (2018). It is a good game, but I prefer RDR2 by far.

Why I prefer RDR2:

More freedom: I love the open world, exploration, and doing whatever I want. God of War felt too closed and linear.

Better story: In God of War, the story felt a bit repetitive (always trying to go to the mountain but something blocks the way). RDR2 felt more alive and interesting.

I am looking for a game with a great story and a lot of freedom. What are your recommendations for me?
