Missed DBS and Occupational Health deadline for Occupational Therapy – has anyone been in this situation?

Hi everyone,
I’m due to start an Occupational Therapy degree this September, and I’m really worried that I’ve messed everything up.
The university asked me to complete my DBS check and Occupational Health questionnaire by 15 July, but I completely missed the deadline.
The thing that’s making me feel even worse is that I actually contacted admissions before the deadline. I emailed them on 29 June asking about my application because the applicant portal had been having IT issues, and I emailed again on 15 July. I wasn’t reminded that I still had outstanding DBS and Occupational Health tasks.
As soon as I realised, I acted immediately. Today I:
Completed my Occupational Health questionnaire.
Started my DBS application.
Verified my identity at the Post Office so the DBS could be submitted.
Emailed admissions to explain the situation.
They replied saying I’ll need to wait until 13 August, but they didn’t tell me that my offer had been withdrawn.
I’m just panicking because I don’t know if missing the original deadline automatically means I’ll lose my place, or if universities sometimes allow students to continue as long as they complete everything before the course starts.
Has anyone missed their DBS and/or Occupational Health deadline for a healthcare course (Occupational Therapy, Nursing, Midwifery, Physiotherapy, etc.) and still been allowed to start?
I’d really appreciate hearing your experiences while I wait for the university’s decision. Thank you.
