A Returning Adam Player’s Tips
Above are some clips I’ve compiled from the past couple weeks playing Adam again. I’ve found it’s just so much easier to get value and do well on this character when you try to play as calmly and focused as possible. Adam has some peak low cortisol gameplay when you stop stressing yourself out and focus a little bit. Just be willing to change your play style on a regular basis to help support your team better. (e.g Enabling your dive dps by flanking with them, playing in your backline and protecting your other support when you’re going against dive, primary and secondary weave your attacks into tanks to farm ult and reduce heal cooldowns, etc.)
I always look at the enemies full team in the beginning of the match so I can think about how I need to play. Your main focus while playing Adam should be to always stay aware of what your teammates are doing and what the other team is planning to do. That way, you can map out your plays ahead of time. (Where should I ult if my team dies right here? Could I fly to them to increase the range? Should I wait to ult until a better time? Should I ult early since I know my team will die from all the ults being spammed? Is someone getting ready to dive the back line? Is my tank making space and I need to pressure the frontline with him? Should I go for the out of position squirrel girl or moon knight? Stuff like that).
What makes Adam so much fun for me is I’m actually rewarded for managing different play styles and thinking outside the box instead of just healbotting. If you’re always thinking about how you can improve and what you can do differently in the future when playing this character you will absolutely excel. In terms of technical skills, I could make an entirely new post. But ultimately what matters most for this character is keeping a good mental and having good decision making skills. Anyways, thanks for taking the time to read all this if you’ve gotten this far. Stay golden lads
