E89 roof issue with boot hatch

Hello all, my e89 has developed a bit of a roof issue lately.

When putting the roof down, it seems like the roof doesn’t sit properly in the boot, causing the boot lid to struggle to close, the video kind of shows the roof not sitting level in the boot, I know the few second delay for the hatch to fully close is normal, but the time before this, the hatch clunked when closing.

When I then open the roof again, there is a knock sound coming from the hatch, which to me gives the impression that the latch is under a bit of pressure from the roof not sitting properly in the boot.

Any ideas what could be the issue? Maybe just some adjustment? I won’t use the roof again until it’s been worked on, I plan to take it to the Zed shed in the UK to get a bunch of preventative maintenance done to it

Thoughts on the MG3 hybrid+

Hey all, just got back from driving an Mg3 Hybrid+ around Provence for the week, it's the first 'boring A-B' car I've driven in a while and I have some interesting thoughts I thought could be shared here.

First of all, it was insanely good on fuel, we did around 450 miles and only spent £42 on petrol (£1.90/litre outside Nice airport), which means around 80 MPG, I couldn't figure out how to use the trip computer so had to do a rough calculation.

It's a great town car, very light steering, and the hybrid system works well and feels like an EV even when the engine is running, but driving on the motorway at 130kmh, the lightness is borderline dangerous, impossible to keep it in a straight line and the steering doesn't get heavy enough at higher speeds.

When climbing up some of the mountain roads, the engine would randomly kick in and rev the bollocks off itself for a minute then switch off, still don't know if that's a feature or a bug. The safety features like lane keep assist are dangerous too, even switching it off on the infotainment still resulted in the car trying to steer itself down some of the more narrow country roads.

It was very comfortable admittedly and had a good ride (or maybe French roads are better than ours!), but the steering column hangs strangely low, making getting in and out annoying, MG clearly need to take some inspiration from Shackletons.

Overall, a good town car, but all the 'safety' features, hybrid technology, and easy to drive factors like very light steering make it not so easy to drive and at times, pretty confusing when it starts revving like hell.

Getting back into my Z4 made me realise how good of a driver's car it is

Dangerous tourist traffic

Just wanted to share my experience and see if anyone else has experienced the same thing. I live in a very popular sea side town along the south coast, the roads are not complicated at all (except for one junction outside of the main town which is hated by locals). Roundabouts are simple, traffic lights and lanes are simple and easy to understand, and google maps is also very reliable. But every year when the summer and half terms roll round, there are so many tourists who, without fail, will make some absolutely ridiculous move. I'm avoiding taking car trips into town this week just to avoid them. I get being in an unfamiliar place, but you'd think these people haven't actually got a licence
