Active person who can’t be active now

I was diagnosed with a hip deformity in October as well as a torn labrum after 10 months of tests and injections. My doctor said I need a reverse PAO. Only issue is, I’m 39 and my husband and I were trying for our first child. Since my clock is ticking, I was told to try to get pregnant first, so I’ve put the surgery on the back burner and have been living with the pain. I’m a fairly active person and it’s driving me crazy that I can’t workout and I’ve lost so much muscle this last year. Has anyone had experience where you’ve had to delay surgery and what have you found works exercise wise that helps prevent the atrophy? Also, has anyone had a successful PAO in their early 40s? I know not all doctors perform them and start to recommend hip replacement which I really want to avoid.
