Journalling apps have no people. Matching apps have no depth.

Why does connecting online always feel like either a blank notebook or a fake advertisement?

A notes app never answers you, so the habit dies in a week. Swipe apps go the other way: they reward the best photo, not the most honest person, so profiles turn into small advertisements and filtered pictures become normal.

I wanted something in between, a space where you keep a real journal, but get matched with people whose words actually sound like yours. Same language, near enough to meet, carrying something similar, working toward something similar.

No photos at first, no public profiles, no vanity numbers to grow. Just genuine, unvarnished honesty.

I’m currently building a quiet web MVP around this idea over at ifeelyou.dev. Would love to hear if anyone else feels the same about modern social apps or wants to give it a try.
