Life’s been kicking my ass lately. I’ve been dealing with a lot of anxiety and panic attacks, and honestly I’m just looking for someone who wouldn’t mind being there when my brain decides everything is falling apart, cuz that really seems to help.
Is that selfish? Maybe. I honestly have no idea. But if there’s even a 0.1% chance someone reads this and thinks “yeah, I can do that,” then I guess it’s worth posting.

I don't even know what I'm looking for by posting this. Maybe just to know I'm not the only one who feels this way.

I keep feeling like I'm never anyone's first choice.

Whenever I have a best friend, they always seem to have someone they'd rather spend time with. Even in my family, I've often felt like I come second. It's gotten to the point where I can't remember a time someone genuinely chose me when they had another option.

The weird thing is, I don't think I'm unlovable. I know I have so much love to give. I'm fiercely loyal, I remember little things about people, and when I care about someone, I really care. I don't expect perfection either. I don't need someone to love me exactly the way I love them. If I felt like someone was meeting me 80% of the way, I'd be over the moon.

I think what I want most is to look back ten years from now with someone and think, "I'm so glad I met you that day."

Lately I've been wondering if I'm asking for something that's actually rare, or if I've just been unlucky with the people in my life so far.

Has anyone else felt like this? Did it ever change? I'd really like to hear from people who have been on either side of this.

Books: my fav author is Haruki Murakami, so anything by him, also the Annihilation series by Jeff Vandermeer. I 99% read either fiction or poetry, I don't enjoy fantasy that much I'm SORRY, I know it's a lot of people's favorite genre.. but sci-fi-ish fantasy is okay I suppose...? :'D

I don't really mind if we don't have many interests in common as long as we connect otherwise :)
