Does anyone have details or stories about Andre Rogers' time playing in the NPB (Japan)?

I'm a big fan of Bahamian baseball history. I know Andre Rogers was a pioneer as the first Bahamian in the MLB, but I’m specifically looking for more information about his time in Japan playing for the Taiyo Whales (橫濱大洋鯨).

I’ve heard he was nicknamed "Black Octopus" (黒タコ) there. Does anyone have stats, old news stories, or local anecdotes from that era? It’s fascinating how he bridged the gap between the Caribbean, the US, and Japan. Thanks!

Is Baseball still the undisputed No.1 sport in Venezuela, or is Football (Vinotinto) catching up?

I'm fascinated by Venezuelan sports history. From legends like Miguel Cabrera to the rise of the Vinotinto in football, your country has so much talent.

I've always heard that "Baseball is King" in Venezuela, but I've noticed a lot of passion for football lately. In your opinion, which sport truly holds the heart of the nation today? Is the younger generation shifting towards football, or will it always be a baseball country?

What is truly the No.1sport in Panama? Baseball or Football?

Greetings from Taiwan! I'm a big sports fan and I've been researching sports culture in Latin America.

Panama is fascinating because it seems to have a foot in both worlds. On one hand, you have a legendary baseball history with icons like Mariano Rivera and Rod Carew. On the other hand, Football (Soccer) seems to have incredible energy and a huge following among the youth, especially after the 2018 World Series appearance.

If you had to pick one as the "National Sport" today, which would it be? Is it still Baseball, or has Football officially taken over? I'd love to hear your perspectives!

"Aside from the Bahamas, are there any other English-speaking Caribbean countries where baseball is played?

"I’ve always found it fascinating that the Bahamas is one of the few English-speaking nations in the Caribbean where baseball is so popular. Are there any other countries in the region with a similar English-speaking background that have a significant baseball scene? Or is the rest of the West Indies strictly all about cricket?"

What’s the current state of cricket in the Bahamas? Do young people still play it?

I’ve noticed that the Bahamas seems to be the only English-speaking Caribbean nation where baseball is so dominant, which is quite unique. I know cricket has a long history there, but what’s the situation like now? Is it still popular among the younger generation, or has it mostly been replaced by basketball and baseball? I’d love to hear some local perspectives!
