Anyone own this dog?

Anyone own this dog?

I was at Bathsheba beach two days ago and came across an amazing dog. Does anyone know her owner?

She has a snaggle tooth on the lower right that sticks up which you can see a little in the picture. She was quiet but friendly and came right up to my friend and I looking for some pets and love.

I can’t stop thinking about her and just want to know if she is loved and taken care of.

Thanks! 🙏

Do Other Caribbean Countries have their version of Jamaica Information Service (JIS)?

I want to learn more about the history of Caribbean countries, what's the best place to learn this online about specific countries? The textbooks I've read offer broad information but not enough on individual islands that I am curious about.

Jamaica has JIS where we can learn the history of Jamaica (eg emancipation), the political structure, etc... do you guys have that?

Looking for Some Arrival Insight

>Hey all! We will be coming for vacation in November. Our flight will be landing on a Saturday around 10:30pm, but we don't check into our Airbnb until Sunday. So I have a couple questions

  1. Does anyone have any recommendations on a hotel to stay at for that Saturday night. There will be 5 adults total so we will need 2 rooms. Certainly doesn't need to be extravagant as we wont be there for long at all.

  2. Getting there that late, I'm a little worried about being able to pick up a car. Will there be taxis available? Are we better off pre booking a taxi? Are they able to accommodate for luggage for that many people?

Thanks for any insight! Cant wait!!

Holiday - Late June

Hi everyone,Just looking for some advice on a last min holiday to Barbados end of next month.

The weather looks to be warm but very windy with wind about 30km/h up to 60 km/h and a lot of clouds..

Is this accurate? Don' t want to book to visit the island and its overcast and windy and not possible to sunbathe and venture around and see the culture etc.

We like to relax, sunbath, swim and discover the local area. so ideally nice weather would be ideal.

Any advice as conflicting googling is making me worried

Thinking about going to Barbados and have a lot of questions

We’re a family of four (ages 18 and 20 for the kids) planning our first trip to Barbados, and I’d really appreciate some advice.

We’re considering an all-inclusive resort, but I’ve seen mixed opinions saying it might not be the best option there. If we do go with all-inclusive, what are some good resorts you would recommend for a group like ours?

If we skip all-inclusive, what should we expect in terms of average food and drink costs on the island?

I’ve also noticed airport transfers can be quite expensive. Is it worth renting a car instead? How is driving in Barbados, and is parking generally easy?

Any other tips or recommendations for first-time visitors would be greatly appreciated. Thank you!

Honeymoon in September

Planning a week long trip and looking for ideas from locals. This will be my 4th visit and my soon to be husband’s 1st time.

My mom’s family is from Barbados, but she left when she was 6 so other than seeing family ideas are slim,,, I don’t want EVERY thing we do to feel touristy.

Couples dancing at Oistins

It's my first time in Barbados and everyone said Oistins on a Friday night was the place to be. Despite being completely jet lagged and landing Friday afternoon, we dragged ourselves out.

As one of our party had a headache, we had to leave early

Shortly before we left I saw lots of couples dancing in the area where the famous Michael Jackson had been dancing. As someone who used to do lindy hop, I was transfixed and really loved watching the couples for the little time I could.

Is there anywhere else people dance like that, where I could go and watch? What is the etiquette - do people only dance with their romantic partners or spouses? Does anyone ask anyone to dance? Do bajans grow up just absorbing this incredibly musical dancing from elders?

Thanks for any tips!

Oistins’ Fish Fry Red Snapper Recipe

I have been chasing this dragon for years ever since my visit to Barbados. I sat down for a Friday night fish fry, got a red snapper and have not tasted anything remotely like it since.

It was savory, slightly sweet, lots of spices, hint of umami, perfect. I cannot find a single recipe for a grilled snapper that comes close.

Somebody please help or recommend a blend!

Thank you!

Hello,What is the most popular sport in Barbados?

Hey everyone, I'm a sports fan from Taiwan! I'm really curious about the sports culture in Barbados. Which sport is the absolute most popular on the island that everyone watches and plays? Is it cricket, football, or something else? Would love to hear from the locals. Thanks!

Looking for a place in Bridge town

sorry if this has been asked before...I am looking at what furnished options there are for a digital nomad from Canada, I am hoping around $2000 Canadian, which I think translates to $3000 Barbadian dollars. If someone could point me in the right direction that would be very helpful.

Thanks :)

ESPN Cricinfo: Barbados Royals to be called Barbados Tridents again in the CPL

Barbados Royals are returning to the name under which they played the first eight seasons of the CPL - Barbados Tridents

The franchise will return to Barbados' national colours, with a redesigned blue-and-yellow jersey. The Barbados government is also set to become a "minority co-investor" in the franchise, which will continue to be run by Royals Sports Group

Relocation for same sex couples

My partner and I are considering relocating to Barbados from the UK for work and would really appreciate honest perspectives from locals, expats, or LGBT couples living there.

We’re a same sex couple and are thinking long term, including eventually having children in the US via surrogacy and raising a family.

We’ve actually travelled to Barbados many times as tourists and have always had a great experience with no issues, although we also tend to be fairly low key and not particularly into PDA. We realise though that living somewhere full time can be very different from visiting.

A few questions we’ve been wondering about:

• How LGBT friendly is Barbados in practice day to day?
• Are people generally accepting socially, even if conservative?
• Would two men together attract attention or issues publicly?
• How are international schools/local schools regarding children of same sex parents? Would bullying be a concern?
• Are there particular areas or communities that are more open minded/international?
• If one partner gets a work permit, can the other obtain a dependent visa/spousal status as a same sex spouse?
• Are foreign same sex marriages recognised for immigration purposes?
• Is there much of an LGBT community or expat network?
• Anything you think UK couples underestimate before moving?

Would really value candid answers rather than official/legal wording. Thanks in advance.

Fashion

As a local I love western and J-Fashion.. Id love to try lolita, gyaru or just dress super feminine/girlie but im scared to get judged and or bullied.
When I get the money I will try to buy/make those types of fashion for myself

But I was just wondering if anyone feels this same way or am I all on my lonesome?
