Seeking Assistance for a Hardworking Friend in Crisis

Hi everyone,

I’m posting because a close friend of mine just broke down and told me everything she’s been going through, and I want to do whatever I can to help her.
She works hard and has a job, but she’s been living paycheck to paycheck. To make matters worse, her employer has repeatedly paid her late, sometimes making her wait weeks for her wages, and she’s even been short-paid. Despite doing everything she can to stay afloat, she’s fallen behind through no fault of her own.
She’s now facing the possibility of losing her home if she can’t pay her rent by tomorrow, and she’s also struggling to afford food. Hearing everything she’s been carrying on her own was heartbreaking, and I couldn’t just sit by without trying to help.
If there’s anyone who is able to offer any assistance, whether it’s toward her rent, groceries, or even pointing us toward resources, we would be incredibly grateful. I understand times are hard for everyone, so even if you can’t help financially, thank you for taking the time to read this.
Thank you for your kindness and compassion

I’m terrified of losing the one place that finally felt like home

I don’t really know what I’m looking for by posting this. I think I just need to get this off my chest because I’ve been struggling to process it.

For a long time I’ve worked extremely hard to build a stable life for myself. It hasn’t been easy, and there have been a lot of sacrifices along the way, but I was proud of the progress I had made.

Yesterday I found out that someone I considered a close friend stole from me.

To make matters worse, I later learned that he gave what he took to a family member. I still don’t fully understand why he made that decision, and I keep replaying it in my head trying to make sense of it.

What hurts the most isn’t what was taken. It’s the fact that it was someone I trusted.

This was someone I welcomed into my home. Someone who knew me, knew my situation, and knew how hard I’ve worked to build some stability in my life. I never imagined he would be the person I’d have to worry about.

Since finding out, I’ve gone through every emotion possible. Anger, disappointment, sadness, confusion, and honestly a lot of hurt.

I keep asking myself the same questions.

Why would someone betray a friend?

Why would someone knowingly take advantage of trust?

How do you look someone in the eye and do something like that?

The hardest part is realizing that the person I thought he was and the person he turned out to be are two completely different people.

I found out about all of this yesterday, and I still feel like I’m in shock. I haven’t been able to think about much else.

I don’t really have anyone to talk to about this, so I guess I’m posting here because I needed somewhere to vent.
