Notary Income Taxes

Just became a notary in Texas and am wondering how income tax works for the earnings. Is there a minimum amount I need to earn in order to have to file taxes for it?

Separate question: I do not have a car but work in a mall and plan on walking to all of the businesses in the mall and handing out my business cards. I know in the state of Texas I cannot charge more than $10 for a traditional notary, but if I were to get some business from the other stores at the mall would me walking to them be considered travel / mobile notary? Would I be able to charge an additional $2.50 per notary for my bus fair?

Thank you in advance.

I completed my Texas Notary Education Course!!

I completed it today! I got an 80😁. I used the American Association of Notaries to file for me and get my bond and insurance 🥹. Just wanted to post here because I'm so excited 😇

Should I do it?

I've been considering becoming a notary in Texas where I live. I have a regular job a restaurant hostess but would like something to do on the side and maybe even switch to notary becoming my regular job and doing restaurant on the side. My problem is I don't have a car / know how to drive. Is there an option in Texas to strictly be an online notary? Is that even an option? Thank you all in advance for any help 🥺.
