Has anyone noticed changes in Oura cardiovascular age/PWV after starting tirzepatide?
I recently started tirzepatide and have noticed that my Oura cardiovascular age has gradually moved in the wrong direction over a relatively short period. My estimated PWV has gone from roughly the low 6s to 6.5 m/s, and my cardiovascular age has shifted from around 5-ish years younger than my actual age to 3.5 years younger.
I’ve also noticed that I’m eating significantly less since starting tirzepatide, and lately I haven’t felt like I’m recovering from exercise as well. Yesterday I did a late workout with running and weights after not eating very much during the day, and my heart felt like it was pounding more than usual. My resting HR also seems a little higher than my normal baseline.
I’m going to discuss this with my doctor, so I’m not looking for a diagnosis. I’m mainly curious about other people’s experiences:
Has anyone who tracks Oura PWV/CVA noticed it change after starting tirzepatide?
Did your resting HR change?
Did increasing calories, carbs, fluids/electrolytes, or adjusting exercise intensity make a difference?
If your PWV/CVA changed initially, did it eventually return toward baseline as your body adjusted?
I’m particularly interested in people who have Oura data from before and after starting tirzepatide.
